On the radio they said during the trial he had to provide a list of his assets liquid and otherwise and that is most likely how they came up with the fine.

I think he had a wheel of fortune thing in his office and spun it hoping to get "bankrupt" but instead only ending up with 350million and lose a turn, instead.

Hell! You could stampede cattle through the Vatican and not get fined that much.

No fine but you would find out if Dante's Inferno is real or a fairy tale.  :o

The judge basically pulled that number out of his ass like the vindictive little political toady puppet bitch he is.

Compensatory damages are just that.
Compensating one or more parties for losses incurred by the actions of a defendant.

In this case, the court transcripts will show that every bank official who testified all said the same thing, that the loans in question were all paid back in full, on time, and with the agreed upon interest rate. When asked by Trump's attorneys if they would ever consider granting business loans to Trump in the future, they all answered in the affirmative.

Not one of them claimed the loss of a single penny, yet this political hack of a judge just completely disregarded their testimony and based his award of compensatory damages on his own clearly biased opinion rather than ANY FACTUAL EVIDENCE whatsoever.

This judge's conduct is a disgrace, and his ridiculous award of damages will not stand in any legitimate appeal to a higher court.

I think we set a new standard for Kangaroo Courts in Bannana Republics...

These court jesters posing as judges should face a firing squad for their mockery of the Constitution and legal justice system.

Even if I didn't like whomever this verdicts was against, same charges, same evidence, same everything just a different defendant, I'd say the same thing. It is pure unadulterated steaming bovine excrement. Plain and simple.

There ought to be 200 E Jean Carrols lined up right now to make their 83million each. because if he actually did this to her, he did it to a lot of others and they have incredible payouts coming. Or she made it up and still made bank. which means that others will want to make bank as well.

And if he says they are lying, even if they are lying,  he owes them 83 million for calling them liars. That's the world we are in now.

There were something like 25 of them weren't there?

She did, and won't see a penny of that money.

Yeah, I can't wrap my head around that. I've known women who were raped,  I can't picture them admiring anything about them afterwards.

I'd like to know how he ruled there was actual fraud when there wasn't.
