I've travelled with Alaska Airlines and remember they were fantastic. I wouldn't have any reservations about flying with them again.

Not to change the subject, but my son is graduating from high-school this year.
As a graduation gift, I purchased him a back-pack which he can use for college in the fall.

My son will be enrolled at the University of Vermont, studying engineering.

It's a lot of money for a bag, however for this mile-stone occasion, it's a splurge which will last for years.

Mowens, Are you giving your grandson a graduation gift?

Yeah, I have no problem with Alaska Airlines. My wife has flown with them quite a bit. They had nothing to do with the door, other than buying the wrong airplane.

My grandson is going to Montana State, the last I heard, for computer science. I do need to get him something, but, not sure what. That backpack looks pretty cool.

My nephew attends school in Montana.

Until he started there, I did not realize how cold Montana can get in winter...as low a -50 F.

Ruitertassen makes beautiful bags. I gave my older son a Ruitertassen leather bag for his graduation.
They're like a Gesner Toolbox. Heirloom quality and under-stated style. Certianly they're expensive, but worth the money.

Yeah, he may be surprised at the weather. It's pretty mild where he lives. I'll look at some cold weather gear, too.

Sometimes you just gotta let people find out...

He's stubborn AF and you can't tell him anything because he knows EVERYTHING... just ask him.
