Yes i gave it a go this morning.
Mastercam crashes every time i get out of the Cimco page.
Also lose my Pointer and cant select geometry when i get back to mc
Looks promising but will wait a while and see how it ends up.

Here's Johnny!

Looks like Machsim. Is it verifying Gcode?

I know they were working on this back in 2016 but....

Yes. I'm wondering if it work with any post to launch out of Mastercam or do you have to use a Cimco post?

Good question! I assume you will need to pay one way or another!!!

the current version of Cimco Edit can verify gcode on a stock model
I've never tried as I've never be successful getting backplot to replicate tool motion accurately
I can get it to do the actual cutting toolpaths pretty well, but I can never get the home moves right

I wonder how that will pan out long term.

Autodesk purchased Cimco a while back, so with Sandvik on one side, and Autodesk on the other....
CNC Softwares own 'lil piece of Poison Ivy.
TopSolid for the Win :)

Which means my interest in this product and AD's subscription licensing scheme are less that zero.

They purchased their machining technology....not Cimco proper

Tom originally went to AD after the purchase... he's now back as a manager with Cimco

Well, the sale included DNC-Max/MDC/NC-Base/Cimco Edit. That is pretty much Cimco in a nutshell. That came from the CEO at Cimco in Denmark. To be honest though, I've not seen anything negative come out of that. Nothing has changed, and the product has been developed consistently. About the only noticeable change was going from a V*.* numbering to a year type version numbering.

That would be news to everyone I know that's "in the know"

I suspect you got your leg pulled...

AD doesn't leave their buys alone

They bought HSM... the employees got the remaining company...

Tom, the old CEO pre-AD went to AD...

He left AD and is back at Cimco

Apparently AD has purchased something of Cimco... it's not been clear what exactly they bought...

In late '21 I've found a couple articles that they purchased IP that Cimco owns... what exactly the "intellectual property" is involved is muddy at best.

My contacts say not everything but again,  even they're unsure.

HSM Works was a Cimco cam package that ran in SolidWorks.
AD bought it, kicked the SW users to the curb and HSM Works is now a Fusion module.

Yup..what we have been talking over is something that happened WELL after that deal took place....whatever this was is happened in 2021....HSM happened back in the mid 2010's
