Yes, but it's not HIM PERSONALLY you should be hating.

If you are hating how the golf media gushes over him, it's THEM, not HIM.
All he does is show up every week to play golf tournaments.

Hating the man personally, methinks you are displaying the same tendencies as the TDS crowd.  :yes:  :harhar:

Regardless, their tactic backfired and had the opposite effect on me.
I like players like Tony Finau, Rory, Ricky, Justin Rose, etc... the guys that don't get all of that hype but are just as capable of pulling off a victory.
Of course players like Tiger, Jack, Arnie, etc.. those guys are worthy of that hype.

Yeah, I get that.

But Scheffler, just like those other guys, has ZERO control over what the talking heads say about him.
Unfortunately the media are the ones creating the hype, and they are doing it to sell their products.

In reality, I think Scottie Scheffler is just as nice a guy as Tony Finau, Rory, Rickie, etc.

If / when one of those guys passes Scheffler as the #1 ranked player, the same hype will be heaped on them whether they want it or not.
Will you hate them then?

Of course not.
But they will be in the same position Scheffler is in right now of not having any control over what the media says about them.

I guess after all this I am just saying don't hate the player, hate the game!
Whoever the #1 player is (with the exception of any LIV guys) will receive the same treatment.  :yes:

Well Rory finished T22, Ricky T30, Tony T55, and Justin Rose didn't even make the cut.

If any of those guys are going to knock Scheffler out of the #1 spot they will need to do MUCH better than that!  :cheeky: :harhar:

Overall in 2024 FedEx Cup points, Scheffler has EARNED 3125 points so far, more than double the 2nd place total of Wyndham Clark @ 1555.

How can you NOT be the #1 player on the PGA tour when you have more than double the points than the 2nd place guy?  :harhar:
