OK, you are stranded on an island....you can only have 5 albums/CD's Cassette tape, 8 tracks...whatever format you prefer....

What are your "Must" haves?

1) Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon
2) AC/DC   -   Back in Black
3) Allman Brothers - Live at Fillmore East
4) SRV - Couldn't Stand the Weather
5) Steely Dan - The Royal Scam

A few things are solid but as I ponder, three of those 5 "could" change....just as an early morning Monday exercise.

This is just too hard.

Megadeth - Rust in Peace

Nevermore - The Politics of Ecstasy

Merciful Fate - Don't Break the Oath

Pearl Jam - Any one of their live albums.

In Flames - Come Clarity

A list like this would change daily depending on your mood and what time of day it is. Too many great albums over the years to choose just five. Having said that...

Pink Floyd - The Wall
Jethro Tull - Aqualung
The Beatles - Sergeant Pepper Lonely Hearts Club Band
Led Zeppelin - II
Alan Parsons Project - I Robot

Two thoughts on this;

1. If I were to actually be stranded on an island I think I would try to shed all remnants of modern society and live a simple life in harmony with nature. The older I get the more I want to leave society behind.

2. For the last decade or so all of my music has been through Pandora so I only know the songs I like form a lot of artists, I don't know if an entire album would be worth a top 5 list.

One thing I've learned is that you can get sick of anything, if you listen to it enough.

Except Black Sabbath's first album, of course.

Judas Priest - Priest Live
Oasis  - Definitely Maybe

There is one album besides Black Sabbath that I would take. Kind of off the wall.

Jesus Christ Superstar - the original with Ian Gillian. Not that lame ass movie soundtrack.

First off, this is not a complaint, just an observation.
I, like most people but clearly not as much, enjoy music.
I found it odd that we would have an entire section dedicated to music.
Yet here we are in the Off Topic section on that topic.

With that being said here is my "top 5"
Basically the first 5 that come to mind.

Celine Dion
Elton John
Cat Stevens
Paul Simon
Johnny Cash

I feel judged already.  ;D

Just noticed we were looking for albums.
Although I like these artists I could not name a single album.

Would it help if I mentioned her for her French music?

I love that sound track, and the play also. I listen to it 3 or 4 times a year, and last year I saw the play twice at 2 different venues.

And...the first 3 Black Sabbath albums were great!
