My folks got sick about two weeks ago, something in the lungs.  Doc's don't want to test them for some reason.  Starting to feel better today though.

It's not that simple. Even among people that are low risk there are varying conditions of immune system. Some people have strong active immune systems that don't need a vaccine to teach it how to mount a defense against a virus. Other people that may be considered low risk because of age and other conditions may have a weak enough immune system that a virus will take hold and they will get sick, even if it not critical.

My wife and daughter both had positive Covid tests two months ago. We followed the protocol and quarantined as recommended. However inside of our house we didn't take any extra precautions. I slept next to my every night. We sat on the couch and watched movies as a family. We cooked and ate meals together, etc. I took three Covid tests and all came back undetected.

Also, as far as people being petri dishes, Millions of people take the Flu vaccine every year and it mutates. Just because you take the vaccine does not mean the virus doesn't have a chance to live in your system and mutate before your immune system eliminates it. Again, the overall health and immune system condition of a person plays greatly into this. A vaccine doesn't make your immune system stronger, it teaches your immune system what the virus is. Your immune system still needs to do the work to eliminate the virus after it is in your body. This is scientifically proven in large factory farms where animals given regular antibiotics are creating antibiotic resistant viruses. Hey, glad that you and your family are fine. Yet your outcome is not the same as other people's outcomes and I would not expect you to assume that they would be. There are plenty of examples out there of healthy people, even active athletes who got their asses kicked by Covid.

Sure millions of people get vaccinated against the flu, many other millions do not get vaccinated. Could they be the engine that drives the mutations?

Um...antibiotics do not work on viruses at all. Bacteria and viruses being fundamentally different. Sure antibiotic resistance can be directly correlated with improper antibiotic use. That discussion has been going on since at least the sixties and yet improper use continues.

I do not consider my families experience typical, however based on deaths, hospitalization, and reported symptoms, we are probably in the majority group.

I do realize that antibiotics do not kill viruses. I mentioned it only as a comparison of how bacteria and viruses are similar in that they mutate and find a way to survive. An example pertinent to viruses would be factory poultry farms. chic's are given vaccines for a host of viruses, yet according to the CDC they are still likely sites for virus mutation. There is just as much science and data to show that viruses can mutate in a vaccinated population as they can in non-vaccinated populations.

Oh, it's cool to murder children because #MyBodyMyChoice but you better let us inject you with whatever WE feel like making you inject... for a flu strain.   Yeah... thanks, but no thanks. If you want the COVID vaccine, cool. You do you. Your body, your choice. As for me. No thank you, and since I've already had the 'Rona, seems moot at this point.
