Yes... here is Cali the laws are written by lawyers to enrich lawyers.
They have made it very easy to file class action lawsuits against employers.
My wife's employer is embroiled in 4 of them now. They've been rumbling along for years
consuming millions in legal fees and will eventually result in her employer shutting down his
operations in Cali, putting 5 thousand people out of work and costing Cali millions
in annual tax revenue.
It's gotten so bad business organizations are working to get a reform referendum on the November ballot.
They've got the signatures and the referendum will qualify for the ballot.
Newsome and the legislature are fighting back, trying to keep the referendum off the ballot and proposing
reforms of their own.
Their idea of reform
Bumping the employe's settlement awards to 35% from the 25% current.
In other words the lawyers/legislature are saying..  Let us keep the pie and we'll give you a bigger slice.
