That's a nice thought, but they will just "update" their terms of service to fit their narrative.
Case in point YouTube and Google.
YT if infamous for de-monetizing videos they don't agree with or if you say certain words (aside from swear words)

If I want something taken down I can send my followers to reports it, more than a hundred reports it will get automatic strike that would have to be contested afaik

And that's dumb they they will allow that. Automatic strikes shouldn't even be in the discussion.

Not totally, typically YT only demonetizes the particular video they have an issue with. XXX number of strikes and you lose your monetization/channel completely. It gets people to 'self censor', thus bypassing any freedom of speech you may think you have.

Maybe I was thinking of copyright strikes. Either way, they are very strict on the 3 strike rule.

I got a strike because the ai wrongly flagged on of my videos for nudity(which there wasn't) instant demonetization, I had to contest it, it was removed in about 3 minutes but still, so not cool.
Youtubers such as SteveWillDoIt got a single strike for a minor tos violation for some kind of promoting gambling by accident, instantly banned with millions of followers
