I started with the original Motorla Droid, went through a couple motorola models past that, then moved to Samsung.  My last android was a Samsung Note 4.  Move to iPhone after that and don't see myself going back.  Every android phone I had got maybe two software version updates through its life and by the time 2 years had gone by, they were slow as could be.  While the tech in an iPhone often lags behind android, it usually works well and Apple supports them with many generations of software version updates.  When I made the move to iPhone, I thought I'd be back to android on my next phone...  That didn't happen.  I'm now deep in the Apple infrastructure and love how well all my devices work in unison with each other and other family members.  Phones are like cars, you have die hard fans in each brand.  So I say find something you like and stick with it.  I'll stick with what I like and we'll all be happy.. :D

Yes, I have an M2 iPad pro, Apple watch ultra, M1 MacBook Air, and my iPhone 13.  Depending on features in the 16 when it's released, I may upgrade my phone this year.

My wife and I have been running androids for 15 years
We typically get new ones every five years.
The only failure we've had is the one she dropped in the washing machine.
That was an early model, before they made them water resistant.
The models we own today would survive a dip in the washing machine.

I can't speak for modern android devices. I just had bad enough luck with the phones I had back in the day to push me away. I've never had the issues with my Apple devices that I had with the android counterparts.  I'm sure the current android ecosystem is much better than back in the day, but I'm so deep in the Apple ecosystem at this point that I don't see myself going back.
