I've seen lots of videos like that; people jumping out of bushes with realistic looking fake axes and such.  Saw one where a dad with his kid pulled a gun on the prankster, who luckily ran away before getting shot.  It was only a matter of time.

I guess it's better than the Swatting "pranks" that could easily kill an innocent person. If the instigator gets killed that's on them.

Oh definitely.
Swatting is a whole new level of insanity for which the punishment should be swift and severe.

But if jumping out with a knife at unsuspecting people on the street gets you shot, that's 100% on you.

I have a pretty good sense of humor, but neither of those things is even remotely funny in any real-life context.  :no:

Heard about a swatting prank in NZ.  The cops showed up and waited patiently on the doorstep while the guy finished his shower and got dressed, then they had a pleasant chat and shared coffee.

It's the SWAT teams that make swatting dangerous.
