How old is your battery?

It's a 2018 van, the truck is 2016. Both original batteries.

Quote from: Ron post_id=6792 time=1613401514 user_id=94A little late perhaps, but here's a NE Ohio driving tip from my previous life. Put a piece of cardboard in front of the radiator. If you cut a smaller hole, 6" or so you won't even have to take it out until temps go above freezing.

I wouldn't do this to a modern, fuel injected car unless the temp is waaaaaaaaay below zero.

Well, ya gotta be smart about it.  All you're doing is slowing down the airflow over the radiator allowing the engine to warm up faster. Same principal as the vinyl radiator cover on a Peterbuilt.

Another win for renewable energy natural gas

QuoteNearly half of Texas' installed wind power generation capacity has been offline because of frozen wind turbines in West Texas, according to Texas grid operators.

Wind farms across the state generate up to a combined 25,100 megawatts of energy. But unusually moist winter conditions in West Texas brought on by the weekend's freezing rain and historically low temperatures have iced many of those wind turbines to a halt.

We are getting snow today (1" to 3"), and ice tomorrow (0.1" to 0.25").

The snow is no big deal, but the ice brings power outages and other headaches with it.

Me and my Mrs. stocked up on groceries this weekend, so we should be good to go even if it gets really nasty.

It's not supposed  to start snowing here till about 7PM 1-2" per hour, 10-12" total. I expect to be firing up the snow blower tomorrow morning before work.
Friday's storm looks like it may be a mix ending with strait rain (Son-of-a-bitch!)

According to Ventusky there's a spot in Russia at -64°F right now.  Well below the freezing point of vodka.
