Tipping a few back? Post here!

So, to avoid extra carbs I've been forced to cut back on beer consumption. I've been drinking hard seltzers. My average is appr. 2 or 3 a day. The 5%'ers.

Today, I saw a new brand. Actually, an old brand we all know and eh maybe not like so much... PBR!

Yes! PBR has a hard seltzer! They call it "Stronger Seltzer". Almost no sugar (a requirement for me) and 8% alcohol by volume. Bought a 12 pack..

The lime seltzer is actually the first lime seltzer I like. Tastes like a vodka (or gin) and tonic.

The next flavor (drinking it now) is Strawberry & Basil. Now, I never cared for strawberry flavors (seltzers, candy, etc. - though I love the actual melon....who doesn't?). But this flavor is outstanding! A strawberry foretaste and a salty herbal basil back taste. Delicious!

I don't qualify yet for this thread (on my 2nd 12 oz'er). However, there's a wild berry flavor I must try next. Tonight. 3 of these strong seltzer PBR's are about a 6 pack in strength. Given I've cut way back (2 to 3 a day of 5%'ers), my tolerance is a bit low. After almost 2, already feeling the effects.

PBR makes me think of Jammer... Maybe we should DM him and tell him of this site...

Haha. I actually created this forum because I know that I get on the forum after having a few once in a while.  This will give me a place to post dumb crap that if people don't wan't to see it, it won't be cluttering up the busy forum with my nonsense.

The politics forum should probably be renamed to "General Discussion"  as we don't always stick to politics.
This is where you come to post something that may not be appropriate for that forum.

General discussion for the Dinner table talk.
Unmoderated for the drunk camping talk.
I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

'General Discussion' replacing 'Politics' is a great idea, IMO.

So, the PBR "Stronger Seltzer" wild berry flavor about to be cracked open in 3...2...1...

Not bad! A fruity wild berry taste. The stronger alcohol content gives it a nice, hearty aftertaste. I approve.

Well done Pabst Blue Ribbon! Jammer would be proud.

I don't usually drink that type of stuff.
I might have to try one some time.

By all means, invite Jammer along.

I drink hard seltzers because I have type 2 diabetes. They have no carbs. (Most brands, you do have to read the labels)

Pretty decent but not a substitute for beer. Beer rules.

I always loved a good Jack Daniels but its been well over a year since I last drank hard liquor. Stop going to taverns (even before the Rona virus). I'd rather not drink hard spirits at home alone. Drinking a good stiff drink at home (hi g huns) is fine when you have a hot looking wife near by (meet Greg's wife a couple years ago...went to the Notre Dame game). Beautiful girl and a great gal. Both myself and brother thought she was terrific.

Having a glass of Blanton's neat.  If you enjoy good KY bourbon whiskey, this stuff is amazing

Thanks for this, Dan.
My wife and I have been doing low carb, and we like many of the hard seltzers as a nice low carb adult beverage.
We have tried most of them, and we like both Truly and White Claw.
I haven't seen the PBR ones yet, but will definitely check them out.

My go-to low carb beer is the new Yuengling Flight, and my Mrs. likes Corona Premier.
Either one of them might work for you if you still want a beer once in a while but you don't want the extra carbs.

For a hard seltzer if you can get your hands on the Grain Belt N'Ice Breakers do it. They are the only hard seltzer I can stand because they actually have flavor. The rest taste like they dipped a jolly rancher into seltzer water for 3 seconds. :barf:

Will check out the PBRs if I get a chance, have not seen them yet.
