Here's Johnny!

Just wondering what kind of home renovation stories are lurking out there with the manufacturing people???

We are currently renovating/ adding a 2nd floor to our old bungalow. It has been anything but a smooth operation so far!!!!!

Is there a way to link photos on this forum?

This was my last big project. I had the cabinets and counters done professionally. The rest I did, including the live edge black walnut island top. The floating shelves are made from the same live edge slab. I also did the glass tile backsplash and floors. That was a huge project. We removed a non load bearing wall to open it up. I had to move all the wiring in that wall and move back the wall by the fridge. I also added ceiling fan at the peak.

Yeah, it was my wifes dream kitchen. The problem is, about a week or two into the project is when I got the offer for my current job, which required us to move. We literally finished that kitchen remodel then put it up for sale a few weeks later.

That was before I switched my diet. At our house now we don't even have a kitchen. We just forage around the yard and squat and eat out there.  ;)

Zoffen

LOL the nicest my house ever looked was right before I sold it.

I hated owning a home. All that extra BS really gets in the way of living life!

That's some beautiful work.  8)

Well at least it probably bumped up the value of your house.

We started gutting the existing brick/ block bungalow in February. We removed everything, plaster, wood, roof, plumbing, HVAC, windows and electrical. Basically rebuilding the existing house while adding a 2nd floor.

Fast forward to September (soon).... we are not fully closed in yet. Waiting for the lower windows (hopefully in the next 3 weeks).

We have all the new underground sewer system installed in the concrete slab (below it) and out to the street, same for the water supply line. The interior framing is almost completed (making some changes).

How did you link your photos onto this forum?

Removing plaster sucks!

You need to put the pics on some sort of sharing site. I use Imgur.com. Once you create an account and upload them you can get a link to share on different forums.

Two houses ago and our last house we were in a similar situation.

To houses ago we put about $80k into the kitchen, Electrolux 42" Oven and Range, Electrolux built in 42 CF Fridge and Freezer, new tile, hardwood throughout the downstairs... 3 years later my FIL needed a place to live and that house was too small. We did at least get some quality time with it.

Our last house... We put a pool in the previous year. We barely got two seasons out of it before I transferred here to Utah. Wife was PISSED!

We're hoping to get a pool in... probably will take 2 years before we can swing it.
