Screenshot of current wind speeds from Windy.com. arrow is where we are at. Right now 10-20 mph but in a few hours it will pick up to 50+ gusts. The trajectory has it quite a bit west of us so no major worries. Just a lot of rain and wind over the next 20 hours.

If you can keep us updated.

I hope it is just scary fun.

Prayers you stay safe. :)

We just got back from the beach. Decided to take an evening stroll since we may be stuck in the house all day tomorrow. Right now looking outside you wouldn't believe what is coming in a few hours

My buddy lives in Mt Dora, and he said that he just ran out of "hurricane snacks".

Just read they're predicting an 'unsurvivable' 20' storm surge.

Not to knit pick, but isn't a 20' storm surge easily survivable if you're at say, 21'?

But half of Florida is less than 20ft.

We are at 13'. The hurricane is passing by far enough that we are only expected to see 3-5' surge.

What is a "hurricane snack"?  A bottle of bourbon and a charcuterie board?

I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

Why would you need a charcuterie board?

He's on the wagon, so knowing him probably a bunch of pudding and stuff to make nachos lol. He's not known for his kitchen prowess.

the fats from the meat soak into the wood, making it the perfect fire starter on the grill for when the power is out.

Sunny and 87 degrees out right now. Very windy, but not a bad day so far. We did have some really heavy rain over night and earlier this morning, but not enough to cause any flooding.
