Lol. I was trying to keep it simple. :)

It seems pretty clear people blame whatever happens in the world on whoever is President at the time. So yeah, Trump was President at the time so Trump lock downs is appropriate.

The economy declined precipitously when Trump was in office. I would think that is undeniable but I've seen the undeniable denied a whole bunch of times here.

Damn those pesky facts!
But...the economy!
Damn that pesky scamdenic!
The economy was booming until that hit. And it did partially recover late 2020.
But the sheep haven't been told that.

No, Inflation isn't going own, the rate of increase in inflation is going down. That's those fine details that your lefty websites like to obscure to keep you in the dark.

I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

Quote from: Smit on October 07, 2024, 08:15 AMWell, Trump did inherit a healthy economy. But after the Trump lockdowns from Covid, demand for a wide variety of things fell.

You know, supply and demand right? Do you understand that part of it?

A good example is gas. When gas was "cheap", oil was also cheap. Heck, it even went negative for a while. Do you guys know why? Right...demand fell off a cliff.

When the economy started to get going again the demand grew, hence oil prices and gas prices started to go up. Because you don't just turn on a spigot it takes a while for supplies to increase to match demand so gas prices spiked.

After a while, as supply grew to meet demand, oil prices started to go down again. You can use the same example and change it to inflation.

Now look at things. Inflation is going down. Unemployment is low. Nationally wages are high. The latest job report showed healthy growth. As a result the Fed is lowering interest rates.

You won't find this on right wing sites but the economy is looking pretty healthy.

Thanks Joe (and Kamala). :)

It's just a :little: bit more complicated than saying "Well, when Trump was President all these things were better" as if his policies had anything to do with a bunch of it. That's just lazy and not particularly persuasive unless you are just determined to believe it.  :fish:

Even further, look at the wealth gap. During your savior Biden's reign the number of billionaires has quadrupled. At the same time working class people can't afford housing, food, insurance, etc. How is that a good economy? That is the party of the rich, the Dems, helping their fat cat big donors get even fatter.

I didn't understand it either but the current rate of inflation is 2.53%.

I forgot to mention the stock market is doing very well.

Thanks Joe (Kamala), and my retirement savings account thanks you too. :welcome:

Billionaires and mega corporations thrive under a Democratic president.
Regardless of the whole "pay their fair share" lie, they smother the middle class working people and small businesses all the while making it damned near impossible for a single person or single income family to buy a home. They want people living off the government so that the rich can get richer.

Nothing hits the poor and middle class harder than high energy prices. High energy prices affect not only electric bills, and gas prices so that they can get to work. but the cost of everything from food prices to waste disposal bills.
