The science shows that the higher the meat and dairy consumption, the higher the all cause mortality is. I could post links to a dozen studies that show definitive cause/effect relations of meat and dairy consumption to cancer, heart disease, etc. And when I say studies, I mean long term, large scale studies, Versus cherry picked, meat and dairy industry studies structured to produce desired results. However you have previously shown that you are not interested in hearing that truth.

We've been eating meat for millennia. I HARDLY call your "large scale studies" that have at most studied a few decades worth of data... AT MOST! "large scale". So your cute little snapshots are adorable so please keep bringing them to us.. because, you know... "science".

You are every bit as biased as I am, perhaps even more. Me; I'll eat just about anything that lived. Plant or animal. If it tastes good and is nutritious, I'll eat it. And on occasion, I like the dessert that isn't particularly good for me so I keep that to a minimum, now more than ever. You; not so much,

Personally, I made a conscious effort over the last 14 months or so to eat better. Meaning more balanced and cut out nearly all processed sugar other than what is in already prepared food I have little control over. Result; roughly 14% drop in weight. I feel better than I have in probably 20 years. I sleep better. I am more active, and my knees don't bother me as much. All while consuming MEAT and Dairy. "Diet" is not a one size fits all decision as you would have us to believe. There are many considerations and many components to a healthy diet.

In the 70's "science" told us margarine was better for us than butter. Yeah. Not so much. Turns out there are some benefits to the types of fats found in butter after all. I'm not talking Paula Dean butter consumption either. In the 70's and 80's "science" told us salt was bad for us. Turns out there's some important nutrients in salt. "Science" has been telling us MANY things, and it changes like underwear and not always for the better. Many things often later turn out to be not as advertised. So yeah, pardon my healthy skepticism when there are MANY points of view and many opinions based on "large scale studies" on a subject. Do I have all the answers? No of course not but NEITHER DO YOU. Difference is, I admit I don;t know everything. You vegans... you know how I should live my life because you tell me every damn day and you get your people to legislate MY dietary considerations.

Now, concerning your snapshot studies, I will absolutely positively give you any and all data that suggests the large scale farming we do these days has hurt the nutritional value in food. I'll contend that is not limited to animal based products as well. I don't think there is a person that could legitimately dispute the claim that antibiotics, growth hormones, pesticides, herbicides, fertilizer, etc... all are not taking a toll on the nutrient value of our food.

Just a couple of points. The China Study. This study followed thousands of people for two decades and reviewed their diets and their health. no other study has ever come anywhere close to that size or scope when reviewing the effects of diet. The results showed that the more animal products consumed, the more chronic disease. The less animal products consumed, the healthier and longer living. Just because it hasn't followed societies for centuries doesn't make it invalid. Again, you choose to ignore it.

As for eating meat for a millennia. Anthropologists have found indications of heart disease and other chronic illness in the remains of our distant ancestors. Just because people have been eating meat for a long time doesn't mean it is healthy.

As far as being a stubborn vegan, there is a difference between you and I. I was once a proud meat eater just like you. I made the same arguments and rationalizations as you post on here. Then I decided to look at the information objectively and openly. When I was open to seeing the truth it changed my life long opinion.

Everyone should have the right to choose,
the "vaccine passports" are a method of persecution on those who want to have free will by the left.

Imo they are trying to drive future vaccine sales by scaring people with the boogeyman covid.

The virus has become a POLITICAL tool!

Edit :
After reading the above comments more closely, I am pretty sure you guys are talking vegetables again!

Doug,
No offense intended, but herein lies the problem with the vegan message.  Just as the most eye-rollingly annoying born again bible thumper is tolerated, but rarely makes any conversions, the vegan story is being laid on way too thick.  Swap "vegan" for "Christian", and "proud meat eater" for "sinner" above and you'll get my point.

Most reasonable people would be open to the argument that "too much meat" is a problem, for various reasons including not just personal health.  It's a 10th order issue for most people's health though.  An unfit couch potato with poor general nutrition isn't going to be much better off by switching to 5000cal of vege chips and soy icecream per day.

As for the vaccine, I'm still sitting on the fence.  Not because I'm in the anti-vax crowd, I'm quite the opposite when it comes to appreciating the benefits of vaccines in general.  I'm wary because the rational and reasonable have been overtaken by circumstances, and those circumstances are being driven by fear and coercion.  It's rational to get a vaccine that may benefit me, and it's reasonable to question it's efficacy and safety in light of results so far.  What other medication can you think of in recent years has had such a high rate of adverse effects without being pulled from use?  The adverse effects weigh on my decision, but go into the pros vs cons pile rather than being a show stopper.  My biggest concern is not the risks, I'll work that out on my own.  I'm more worried that the environment of fear around covid, and the apparent heavy handed over-reaction to it, is going to become the public expectation the next time some other "crisis" pops up.  So I find it hard to decide if the push to vaccinate is a public health need, or a bureaucratic want.

Cheers
Bruce

Just a couple of thoughts. I do not see the bible thumper comparison as the same thing. There are thousands of studies that can shown as evidence to a plant based diet being superior. I have never scene a double blind, randomized control study showing less sin results in a higher probably of salvation. As far as vegans having unhealthy diets, I agree with you fully. There are a lot of vegans that eat nothing but processed vegan food. That is only marginally better. I'd even say possibly worse if you compare to a whole foods omnivore type diet. I often mix the terms vegan and whole food plant based. I should stop doing it as they are two different things. The whole foods plant based diet is the diet that major hospitals are using to reverse heart disease, not vegan diets. I know people that eat healthy diets that include animal products and life healthy lifestyles. It is not impossible. At the same time though, I have seen the same type of people have heart attacks or cancer. When you say too much meat can be a problem, the question is, how does one know how much meat is too much? There are obvious signs like weight and general health. There are chronic illnesses that can found in tests. However, sometimes by the time you catch those in tests, especially cancer, it could be too late to make meaningful change.

As for the vaccine, you summed it up nicely. I feel about the same as you.

Absolutely agree 1000%
Well said.

Pulling out all of the safety stops built into our USFDA approval process, AND giving the drug manufacturers a complete pass on liability gives me pause just on its face.  Call me skeptical, but I'm still a long way from being convinced.

So the CDC people said the science of the last few weeks is what made them do an abrupt 180 on face masks for vaccinated people indoors. The thing is, what science. I can't find anything that shows what they are talking about besides a study that just repeats what was already estimated for vaccine efficacy. If they believed that the vaccine was that effective then they should have been able to estimate when the mask mandates could be lifter based on vaccination rates. However just a week or two ago Fauci was out there saying masks would be forever. Why the sudden change?

To the contrary, there is a whole bunch of things that point to their change being 100% political. Coming inflation, Gas shortages, Border crisis, Attack on Israel, etc. They needed to (1) distract the people from all those things, and (2) get the stalled economies in blue states going again.

Quote from: DUM1 post_id=11072 time=1620998769 user_id=130How about the other side of the coin ? having to work with all the "experimental vacced" people that are shedding W.H.O. knows what ?
some say the shedding of the vaccinated people is causing side effects in un vaccinated people.

I'd sure like to see some supporting documentation for this claim.

There isn't.

(good seeing you post, Smit...)

documentation , ? not sure what kind of " documentation "is out there that is easily found / not censored .
but I have seen many vlogs and first hand videos of people being pretty messed up from the vaccs  and from people shedding from it.
as far as the shedding goes , like I said time will tell , there are many video's on bitchute and duckduckgo about shedding.

the point is the main stream media is not reporting the down side of the vaccinations at all .
you have to dig to find the " bad side " that seems to be hidden for some reason = $$$$$$$$

they say to get vacced if it means " just saving 1 life " well how about the ones that already have died from the vaccs?
how many is ok ? 100 , 500 , 1000 , ? doesn't really matter unless its one of yours kinda thing?
seems ridiculous to me that no one is held responsible for any of the after vaccine problems .
no accountability by the guv or big farma ? getting away with murder as usual ?

read that a lot of insurance companies wont cover the after effects , due to the vaccines not being FDA approved.
any way here's a few articles that raise some questions for me , stuff you don't hear a thousand times a day like on mainstream .
