Bunch of appointments opened up in my town for "essential workers", which includes manufacturing, so I said screw it and signed up...as a relatively healthy 34 year old.  First jab is tomorrow morning.

Pfizer said Thursday its Covid-19 vaccine blocked 94% of asymptomatic infections in an Israeli study – a result CEO Albert Bourla called "extremely important."

The study, which measured results two weeks after the second dose, also found the vaccine was at least 97% effective against symptomatic Covid cases, hospitalizations and deaths, according to Pfizer, which developed the shot with BioNTech.

Take what I have to say with a grain of salt, Tom....(I'm no expert...obviously)

The both of you had no allergic reactions after the 1st shot (I'm assuming or very insignificant if any perhaps). So, the odds are very high you both won't have any reactions after the 2nd shot.

Now, my niece (doctor and surgeon) felt fine after her 1st shot (also had the Pfizer one). However, she got sick for a few days after her 2nd shot. Nothing major. She said its the body readying its defenses. She wholeheartedly endorses getting it.

(Good luck to the both of you. Keep us updated)

Yep. The Pfizer vac is a kickass one. Moderna also stellar.

We are back from getting the shot.
The place ran like a well oiled machine.
We arrived 10 minutes early and had received the vaccine 10 minutes later.
We had to wait a half hour to leave because my wife has asthma and they wanted to be sure
she didn't have a reaction,
The 2nd shot had a little more bite to it than the first but nothing like the monster penicillin
shots they gave us in the Marines when there was a hepatitis scare.

From what I've read the Pfizer shot is the one to get.
We got it because my wife buys tons of Pfizer veterinary drugs and she trusts
the people she deals with and the company.

I got the first dose of Moderna yesterday morning.  Got there at 9:40 and was out at 10:03 after my 15 minute sit.  They had 4 appointments every 2 minutes, and it went extremely smooth.  I felt a bit crummy last night but perfectly fine this morning other than a bit of a sore shoulder.

Here's Johnny!

After hearing the reports of blood clots and the Astra-Zeneca vaccine I will definitely not get that one. I am pre-disposed to getting blood clots, I entered a medical study back about 20 years ago to try and find out why but they couldn't find a reason.
