If we could refine our own oil, then we'd be pretty well off. But we'll continue to ship it elsewhere for the dirty work, and buy it back at the same price the world pays wearing our green mask. Seems super effective for an oil producing nation... And they'll just fire up the softwood lumber BS again too. But Castro Jr won't do well against a strong father figure. I hope he does cave, and then the liberals here can call him a Trump supporter and finally oust'm.

He's going on year #9 and it's getting to be a bit much. His gov't is responsible for 25% of all our federal public scandals from 1867 to now, and the spending won't stop. We're getting a 'tax holiday' so everyone can spend more on consumer goods and booze until mid-February, totally not bribery. And then a cheque for $300 or so in the first quarter. I can only half complain about the fed child benefit though, free $$$ per month until your kid is ~15? Have to be a fool to leave that on the table, I think it's about $40k by the time you get the last cheque.

I saw US historian Victor Davis Hansen on tv last night, and he 100% agrees with you.

He foresees the Dems most likely losing the 2026 mid-term election, and possibly another Presidential election in 2028 before they change course.

He predicted they may even clean house at the top tier and change party leadership, but he stated that if the 'new' leadership was still made up of the 'old guard' Dems, nothing of substance will change.

We'll see how accurate he is, and judging by his previous observations, Victor is a very astute student of history whose predictions come true more often than not.

Obviously I'm not a Democrat, merely an outside observer. 

What I "see" while individual instances are purely anecdotal the number of supporting incidents and the support they garner is significant enough one should be cognizant of it, and what I've "heard" in interviews, is that those truly in control of the party believe at their core that they didn't go hard enough for abortion, lawfare against Trump, and alphabet People issues to name a few things.

This could be their long term negotiation tactic... go SO hard that people dismiss them for a few elections, then back off just enough that they can get people back. So right now they'll go full on pedo is OK down to 13 can consent to sex with an adult and end up settling at 16 or 17... then make people feel good about it because "sophisticated" people have been molesting children for centuries and we're just uptight prudes.

The left has a history of playing the long game very well and Republicans #NotSoMuch.
