I love how you call it that, when it's widely known that CNN, MSNBC and pretty much all other "news"  organizations are the KINGS of faux news but never admit it.

Quote from: Jim at Gentex on January 14, 2025, 05:26 AMJames has the right approach.
Take in information from a variety of sources and sift through it to separate fact from agenda driven propaganda.
Yeah, it takes work, but it gives you the best chance of being as informed as possible.

How many people do you think actually take the time to do that?  I would suspect that it's not the people flocking to the MSNBC's or the Gateway Pundit (or even faux) for their news sources.

I'd like to see a study that shows the accuracy of information gathered from social media but I doubt that anyone would believe the results, and who would you trust to do the study?

I'm talking about a direct quote from Roger Ailes. If you want to be critical, be critical of him.  Personally, I believe him.  lol.

CNN is in court right now in Florida over a false and defamatory story they ran against a Navy Veteran who was helping people get out of Afghanistan.

Smit... I see your crazy emoji, but in this case it is unwarranted and only demonstrates your woeful ignorance.
Watch some of the press conferences by the leadership of California and LA.
The responsibility for these disastrous fires rests on the shoulders on "I don't know" and Donald Trump.

Quote from: gcode on January 14, 2025, 05:39 AMI would know for a fact that
the responsibility for the disaster unfolding here in Cali rests squarely on the shoulders on Donald Trump.

I may be looking in the wrong places, but I haven't seen anyone blaming Trump for what's happening in California. I've seen some claims that he may be resorting to some hyperbole but I would be more surprised if I didn't hear that.

In pretty much every case it demonstrates that.

You mean allegedly right?

CNN very well might be guilty but the court has yet to decide, right?

Mmm....you stated the "MSM", which is a pretty wide brush to use, is one of the entities who claim Trump is responsible for fires in California. I read a variety of news sources daily and haven't seen that claim. Hence the crazy eyes.

Now you've backed off to press conferences instead so no crazy eyes. I haven't seen them and won't. But I'd be interested if you want to link a few so I could see what you're talking about.

I read a variety of news sources daily. I've not seen anybody blame Trump.

If it wasn't for social media all we'd have is the shit that television and radio wants us to see and hear and the world would be full of dumbsmits.

Imagine getting your news from degreed, trained journalists, who not only know how to research and investigate a story, but how to report on it as well. Silly, right?

Instead, the logical thing would be to get your news from internet nutjobs who do nothing but spread unsubstantiated rumors and half truths, all with the intended consequence of further riling up the uninformed and gullible peons, who need a new daily outrage. Do it well enough and long enough and we could have a whole country full of Jeffs!

Hey go for it.

I'd prefer you say "they've already been convicted and found guilty in the right wing media" but that takes a little more time than ::)

Holy crap you are uninformed. California legislature and newsome are literally budgeting lawsuit money to go against Trump while the state is burning to the ground.

you would think trained journalists would be a good source of news but for the most part they are so biased their work
is not fit to line bird cages.

as a simple example I give you Joe Biden's mental state.
It was obvious to anyone who was paying attention that Biden was not capable of performing the job of President
as far back as the 2020 Presidential campaign...yet these trained journalists didn't tell us what we could see with our own eyes... in fact they blatantly lied about it for years.

which brings up an even more important question
Who has been running the country for the last four years?
I've not see any effort by these trained journalists to answer this question.
Who made the decision to forgive student loans when the SC said the President did not have that authority
Who opened the border? Who banned offshore drilling from all of US costal waters.
Who is ordering the nicotine content of cigarettes reduced to near zero?
It's not Joe Biden... sadly, he doesn't even know what he had for breakfast this morning.
I'm sure some of the  well connected press know the answer to these questions but they are not telling the peasants.
The American press does not have the credibility of a jonesing junkie begging for a fix, no matter how well educated
they may  be.
