I'm glad I'm retired.  This is going to replace all you guys soon.

The guys programming plate work and some brackets... yeah. If that is all they do, they are as good as replaced. Then again, current automatic toolpath generation tools are good enough do most of that work already.

I've played around with Toolpath which is a Fusion360 add-in/plug-in. It's pretty darn good.

It's going to be interesting to see if it grows legs in the next 5 years. The owner has already had his interest piqued by the Cloudnc version. At the end of the day, there is no substitute for experience, but for most simple things, I think it could be another tool in the tool box.

Dealbreaker for us is that it doesn't run locally. If that was an option, and it got parts even halfway with a few clicks, it might be worthwhile.

Looking at it from a technical perspective, I'm not really sure it could be done effectively locally. That's a LOT of CPU intensive work going on. Most people's rigs are barley sufficient as it is.

What does this the cloudNC version cost approximately?

Fusion 360 was pretty good at setting up the auto machining function only a few adjustments for a Basic process.

And yea not running locally was IMO a downer.

Some of the bugs ,  On recall a program lost or changed certain aspects.

So a successful program could not be stored.

In other words I didn't like the cloud storage.

It's well into the 5 digits from what I've seen discussed.

No ITAR so a no go for me to even consider

The program in that video looks like it might make a good part, but I'll bet a decent programmer
could cut the cycle time way down.

In a low volume/no-volume, shop it's often good enough.

I didn't think it was FOS,but I've never used it.
I watched it last night and they were saying that it will do 60-70% of what you want it to do, but you're still going to need to setup your libraries and shit for it to be efficient.
They basically say that the person needs to know wtf they're doing.
I thought it was pretty informative overall. But they still have to push the product and cover all experience levels while doing it.

JParis

I don't know about anyone's experience on this, so here goes...

They say it'll get you 80% of the way there....great...not...

If you're like me I find often times it takes me longer to filter through what was done so that I can figure out what still needs doing. Often times instead of digging through a program to "figure it out" I find it faster to just start over....

There are exceptions but that's my overall observation.

It my mind the 80% isn't good enough.
