Well we have finally given up. Our health issues have pushed us to the brink so we ate pulling the plug. My wife has been out since 12/10 after a fall on black ice. She fractured and compressed her L5 vertebrae and had a bad concussion that took a few weeks to get over. On 1/27 she had shoulder surgery. Still recovering from that with PT starting this week.  She hasn't even been able to drive. Osteoporosis from long term steroid use battling her UC. Tendinitis in both feet. This is all on top of dealing with Ulcerative Colitis and it's complications for 30+ years.

I'm dealing with chronic nausea and fatigue from my UC. Long term steroid use has caused both shoulders and elbows to hurt all the time. Osteopenia in both feet. Last bone density scan showed a 1.5 percent bone loss. The last two years have been hell trying to keep working. Probably missed 15 weeks of work for each of the last 2 years. I turned 64 on the 15th of February and pulled the plug on the 28th.

We are both trying for Social Security disability.  If we get approved we would collect our full retirement amount. That would make retirement easier. The lawyer we are working with thinks because of our age, work history and health problems we should be a lock. Wish us luck.

Will still pop in time to time to see what arguments, I mean discussions, are going on. Thanks to everyone who helped over the years. The information I picked from all your brains made me seem real smart.

Take Care and God Bless
Brian

Good luck Brian. I sure hope you get your social security disability. You've earned it, and I know of some people who are on it who haven't endured nearly the tough times you have.

Please check in on occasion and let us know how you're doing!

Del.

Brian I hope all works out for you and your wife. Without our health nothing else matters. God bless you all.

Wow.... well, you always have a place to hang as long as we don't piss off the boss... too much. :P

That's some serious stuff. Hopefully you guys can get healthy enough to go do some stuff.
