The whole point of this thread was the suspension of due process. He had  been legally protected from deportation. The Trump administration  admitted they deported him by mistake.

There was a lot in that post that wasn't worth responding to. The typical ad hominem, deflection and whataboutism used to rationalize an argument, unjustifiably imprisoning people in this case. You should fit right in here.

I say that Garcia isn't a good example because even though I think that everyone deserves due process, the authoritarian side of our current Republican Party, don't. There were two other names brought up around the same time the Garcia story broke. They didn't get as much attention because the administration admitted that sending Garcia was a mistake so that story took center stage. I brought the other two names up on here at one point, but because one of them is Gay, the conversation started leaning more toward bashing the guy for being gay.

Listen to Mowens. He's usually the adult in the room.  :D  He's right.

You know how I know he's right?  Because I started the thread and that is why I started it.

"Jacob Chansley, known as the "QAnon Shaman," was released early from federal prison primarily due to standard federal prison policies that allow for sentence reductions based on good behavior and participation in certain programs while incarcerated. Chansley was sentenced to 41 months in November 2021 for his role in the January 6 Capitol riot, but served about 27 months before being transferred to a halfway house"

5 WayMo cars burned to the ground.

LA's been burning since the 1960's. Just with some periods of calm here and there. All it takes to light off is the city teams win a championship, a city team loses a championship, a democrat loses an election, a thug has an OD near a cop, a thug having an OD can't "breath", somebody gets their ass kicked by the police, ICE decides to run some ops in "sanctuary" cities. You know, run of the mill shit.

And the MSM is saying that it's nothing but a peaceful protest.
"Just having fun watching cars burn" ~ ABC News.

Meanwhile, the police are using....paintball guns. And once the "peaceful protesters" figured that out, they resumed throwing molotovs and anything else they could throw at them.

Perfect time for the National Guard to get some quality target practice time with something that hits a little harder than a fucking paintball. Rubber bullets aren't soft, they'll do just fine.

Activist Judge?  :D

I don't know about anyone else, but if I were this guy, I would be a flight risk, proven or not.

'Statements defy common sense': Judge slams Trump admin's 'insufficient' evidence against Kilmar Abrego Garcia, rejects request for pretrial detention

https://lawandcrime.com/high-profile/statements-defy-common-sense-judge-slams-trump-admins-insufficient-evidence-against-kilmar-abrego-garcia-rejects-request-for-pretrial-detention/

"A federal judge in Tennessee on Sunday ordered Kilmar Abrego Garcia to be freed on bond as he awaits his trial on federal migrant smuggling charges, reasoning the Trump administration failed to show that the man they deported to a notorious Salvadoran terrorist prison in "error" was a flight risk or a danger to the community since being returned to the country earlier this month following his indictment."

QuoteHowever, the scathing 51-page order from U.S. District Judge Barbara D. Holmes is likely to have little real-world effect, as she conceded that upon his release from the custody of the attorney general, Abrego Garcia will "likely remain in U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) custody subject to anticipated removal proceedings that are outside the jurisdiction of this Court."
