I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

Scrapping the debt ceiling - good idea or bad?

On one hand, this is just opening the door for open-ended spending. On the other, it's what they're doing anyway?

This seems like an awful idea to me.

QuoteTrump calls for scrapping debt limit, in megabill twist
The comment comes as Republicans scramble to pass a sweeping legislative package that would raise, rather than eliminate, the cap on the federal government's borrowing authority.

President Donald Trump on Wednesday said the debt limit should be "entirely scrapped," throwing another wrench into negotiations around the GOP's "big beautiful" bill.

Anyone can win if they have enough money and the opponent is shitty enough.

It was feared, at least by me, that she would be shittier than her opponent. That's why Trump won. Not because he's a genius. People were more scared of Harris than Trump.

I always said we were fucked no matter who won.

And now she's getting set to run for Governor of the largest economy in the US.

Doesn't that just give you the warm and fuzzies all over?

Which means Gavin Newscum is going to run for POTUS in 2028 with Stretchin Gretchen Whitmer as his running mate.
Ain't no way he's just gonna step down without wanting to advance his "legacy".

Lets just have a time out and refresh....
So last time around....Daddy Warpspeed, introduced massive tax cuts for the billionaires and launched Project Warpseed which was the introduction of LNP mRNA not-a-vaxxxxseeeen's to the western world, with all the associated lack of performance and safety testing.
This time around, with all deaths, general illness, and cancers up, Daddy Warpspeed has overseen the "new and better" mk2 not-a-vaxxxxseeeen (mNEXSPIKE) which if you do a little latin translation, NEX means "death - specifically violent or unnatural".
And now wants more spending - more debt, which will obviously continue our real-wealth reduction as we get nearer to 2030, where we'll all own nothing but be happy.

Hmmmm....it doesn't look good from here....

It just reenforces the image of California I already have in my head.

No matter HOW negative your opinion is.... it's NOT NEARLY negative enough.

I was a 5th Generation Californian. My relatives showed up there in the mid-1800's. It began a slight decline in the 1960s, the 1970's was the start of a heavy decline. Things abated when Proposition 13 (limit on Property Tax increases by the legislature) Passed. The 80's were mostly stable, but the Democrats continued to do their thing and began their assault on gasoline taxes. 1998 would present the state with it's last Republican Majority. I have to say, California Republican legislators are some of the biggest gullible morons on the planet. They negotiate in good faith with the Democrats for this or that, only to fucked over. THe Democrats are Lucy with the football and the Republicans are Charlie Brown. No shit. By 2002, the Republicans had given away every single future opportunity to take the supermajoprity away from the Democrats. The Democrats now had a supermajority (meaning they did not need a single Republican vote to pass any legislation or tax increase - which they have done nearly every legislative session since). They have gerrymandered the state in such a way so as ensure Republicans can never wrestle the supermajority from them.

There is evil in this world, then there are the Democrats that run California. The only difference between a barbarian and a California Democrat Legislator is the barbarian bleeds you of your blood AND treasure, California Democrat Legislators just bleed you of your treasure.
