I eat there about once a week. I wouldn't have noticed a logo change or cared. Now, if they go screwing around on the inside or radically change the menu, I would have a problem. Also, the quality of their food is spotty at best. If that dips any lower, I'm out.

I grew up in a very working class family with parents from the south who both grew up in poverty. There's a diner near where I work whose food is the closest I've found to what I ate growing up. It's called Fat Earnie's Family Dining. Unfortunately, Fat Earnie is no longer with us but the restaurant is still going strong. They have daily specials like all you can eat fried chicken, including potato, side dish and soup or salad for 12 bucks. Yesterday, I had polish sausage and sauerkraut, mashed potatoes and gravy, baked beans and a salad.
They are always packed. The neighborhood they are located in has a lot of low income people and it gives them a place where they can afford to have a meal out. I will be sad if they ever leave.

Mike, They are changing the decor and menu. I go once a month with group of guys I went to school with. Not crazy over their breakfast.

I had no idea that there was a movement to cancel Cracker Barrel. We don't have them in this State.

I had to look it up to see what was going on and saw this headline.

MAGA's Cracker-Barrel Meltdown

They apparently acknowledged pride month at some point? Then added a plant-based sausage to the menu?  :headscratch:

I'm with you. I would have never noticed. And care even less.

Let the patrons decide if they like the change. Wall Street thinks it's a disaster.

I wouldn't wait too long.

They are already down $424 million.

Might as well go all the way.

And rename it. "Liberal Bucket" ;D

Seeing as this country is hyper divided along party lines and there is very little tolerance, if I were a CEO of a company I would make it a company mission to stay as apolitical as you can. Focus on providing the products and/or service that generates revenue and leave all the other BS out of it.

That being said, I have only been to a Cracker Barrel one time in my life. It was horrible. Bad food, slow service, way to crowded decor, full of complaining old people, etc.

I didn't see much "woke" in the linked article.  :headscratch:

Having said that, it's kinda dangerous to tinker with something so many of your customers relate to.

The country vibe has been their thing. Trying to draw other customers in while keeping your main customer base is tough I guess.

I don't care for them myself. I haven't been to a cracker barrel in many years, the last time left a memory of mediocrity.

Yeah, I got buscuits and gravy there once and the gravy was all flour.

I know what the quality of food is that i can expect at that price point but they sometimes don't meet even that.

From what I've read, changes are being made because they were already facing declining sales. They're rolling the dice, hoping that it brings in more customers.

Well, we can't let that happen! :D

A quote from one of the articles.

What caught my attention was the mention of 1.5% profit margins....all of this blather about other stuff is a distraction if that's true!

They may not have to go woke to go broke if that's the case, but go ahead and "own the libtards" if it makes you feel any better.
