I happen to think tension between the branches of government is a feature not a bug. If everyone is doing their jobs, then there should be tension. Tension keeps everyone in line.

For far too long the executive and legislative branches relied too heavily on the judicial branch, allowing it to often exceed it's own authority.

If that judge feels compelled to resign rather than adjudicate matters, good. It's high time for new blood in the judiciary.

You love to point out everyone elses hypocrisy while ignoring your own.

I remember the last time you accused me of something and was wrong about it.
I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

And what did I say about that?

Personally, I'm thankful for this feature of government. It feels as though it's not working well enough at times. When judgements are blatently ignored.

I agree. I am not sure that I would want to be a sitting Federal judge in this environment. I don't remember a time where the president was openly and publicly threatening to impeach judges that didn't do what they wanted. Some times my memory fails me though.  :D

Threats of impeachment... well considering the last 20-30 years we have seen judges far and wide literally disregard enumerated Constitutional rights... I'm not so sure it's a bad thing that they be threatened.

The reason I am so voiciferous about the 2nd Amendment isn't because I am a firearms enthusiast, it is because the Amendment so clearly written yet so thoroughly disregarded. And if judges can't get that right, then there really isn't much hope for the others.

We do not hate our government enough.
Here's an interesting long piece on prosecutorial over reach.
Nothing political in it, unless you want to live under the rock that hides you from the disproportionate targeting of people of color by our 'justice' system.  That's as woke as it gets.  The rest is just a rant about a bit of legal fuckery engaged essentially out of laziness.

You really need to step out of that bubble you live in.
How many of these "people of color" commit felonies, murder, armed robbery, rape, etc.. and the judge lets them off the next day with a slap on the wrist only to have them do it again soon after?

Keeping in mind your inherent disadvantages, I ask this:

Did you develop these thoughts by reading news sources from every spectrum?

Start watching police and cop cam videos. Take notes.

Even better, anecdotal, single occurrence video that reinforces already held stereotypes!

Jeff, you make this too easy.

This has nothing to do with the disproportionate conversation, but the cop videos where they find drugs in someone's pocket, and they say "that's not mine"!  are the best.

I always hide my drugs in my friends' pockets for exactly that reason.
