I had to type the question to AI.
I could certainly go further down the rabbit hole, but the result seemed a pretty good starting point to have some numbers in front of you.

Let's look at the magnitude of the situation as it currently stands; 10's of millions of people here residing illegally. Statistically speaking, there's going to be some people swept up because of how immigrant populations tend to stick together.

Yes heartstrings.
Look at just about every single left media article and/or headline the past few years.
They're all about feelings and emotion.

You get a lot of people who don't have legal degrees, criticizing people who have legal degrees, around these parts. :D

I'm sure that reading comprehension isn't a requirement for a Federal Judge.

We'll leave that up to the local constitutional scholars to decide!  :realmad:

I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

I don't watch left media so I can't argue that.

You CAN look at whats going on and critical think your way through it without looking at what left or right media is telling you to think.

Reporting from various media watchdogs, academic studies, and news analyses indicates that Fox News programming frequently employs fear-mongering and emotional language when covering immigrants and immigration. This coverage often portrays migrants as a threat to public safety, the economy, and national culture.

Key aspects identified in these reports include:

Emphasis on Crime and Danger: Fox News coverage disproportionately highlights crimes allegedly committed by migrants, often using isolated, high-profile incidents to suggest a widespread "migrant crime wave". Studies note there is zero evidence supporting a link between immigration and increased crime rates, with some research showing immigrants are less likely to be incarcerated than native-born citizens.

Dehumanizing Language: The network has been criticized for using dehumanizing language, such as referring to groups of migrants as "invasions" or "caravans," which critics argue makes it easier to stoke fear and hostility.

Economic Drain Claims: Segments have falsely depicted migrants as an economic drain on U.S. taxpayers and job market. Evidence, however, suggests both documented and undocumented immigrants contribute significantly to the economy and tax base.

Conspiracy Theories: Some Fox News personalities and guests have pushed racist conspiracy theories, including variations of the white nationalist "great replacement" narrative, which claims non-white immigrants are intentionally and systematically replacing native-born white citizens.

Political Motivation: Analyses suggest this coverage intensifies during election cycles, serving to energize the Republican voter base and attack Democratic policies.

Impact on Audience: Studies have found that audiences who primarily consume news from right-wing sources like Fox News are more likely to view immigration as a top priority and perceive migrants as a threat, demonstrating the network's influence on public opinion.

I will use whatever tool gives me what I need ACCURATELY.

AI has proven time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time  and time and time and time and time and time and time  and time and time and time and time and time and time  and time and time and time and time and time and time  and time and time and time and time and time and time  and time and time and time and time and time and time  and time and time and time and time and time and time  and time and time and time and time and time and time  and time and time and time and time and time and time again that it's results should be verified by doing actual work because they ma not be accurate.

And legal stuff, we've seen A LOT of cases where lawyers have used AI for their cases and the case references should have been vetted as they contained inaccuracies.

That is my point.

It's a valid point, but this just a tiny corner of the virtual universe. We post, at least I post, mostly to pass the time. I'm afraid AI is about the limit of effort I'm willing to put into this.

I personally criticize ANYONE who is charged with interpreting the law when they inject their feelings into it, or just outright make shit up. And don't tell me Ketanji Brown hasn't/isn't doing that. Even her fellow justices are unhappy about it. The law says what it says, and doesn't say what it doesn't say. Pretty simple. Don't like the law? Cool. Get it changed. There's a mechanism for that.

Ketanji Brown and Sotomayor have entered the chat.

No need to be a scholar... just need to know how to read, and how to use a dictionary.

My favorite one of course is "... well regulated...". Today that statement means one thing. In 1788 (when the 9th State ratified the the Constitution) it meant something entirely different. And when we're speaking about the Constitution, especially the 1st 10 Amendments, what the words meant in 1788 ARE what was meant. Not what somebody that can't figure out what bathroom to use thinks it means.

If that offends people, good.
