Quote from: SuperHoneyBadger on February 12, 2026, 08:31 AMWhat year is yours? I run a 2013, about 185k miles now, and I love it.

My wife is asking for a bigger vehicle as our son is getting bigger, and the dog is about 85 lbs. She foresees us needing more room, but I love my ES so damn much. Looking at GX's cause I think it feels like the ES of SUVs.

We drove a couple GXs when shopping for the wife. Loved them.

Ultimately decided to keep her in a RX and get a truck for me. Didn't make sense to have two big, V8, gas sucking hogs.

I just looked up Salisbury Plain. That sounds like a fascinating place to ride. Are there lots of restricted areas?

Unsure now as packed up the bikes when i started my business....didn't want to hurt myself as couldn't be off sick!
But it wasn't too bad back then. You could/can(?) ride /drive on all the gravel roads as they are highway - but you need insurance and the bike had to be road legal.
There used to be a warden who would try to chase us around when we'd build a track/loop which was off the road.
Big military presence there - Tank tracks were a big problem - you could be skitting across the place at 50/60 and there would be a couple of 3ft wide by 1ft deep tracks going left to right in front of you - when soft ok but if dried out was sketchy!
Tidworth was great to ride - it was all chalk and clay and literally like ice when wet. After I stopped a young kid was killed there head on into another bike so unsure if that area is now out of bounds.
Trouble is like all things, there's very few places to ride unfortunately.
A favourite local place was Matchams park - they used to hold the Hants grand national there - one of the best tracks in the country. That got stopped because wankers built houses, moved in and moaned about the noise....
