Do middle class families in Texas really pay more taxes than middle class families in California?
I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

Possibly
In Cali the top 5% pay 85% of collected income tax
They pay about 13.5% on top of a 35% Federal rate.

the bottom 50% pay noting or get "tax credits" back, even though they pay nothing in taxes
the 45% in the middle pay about 5 to 7% income tax

Cali also has the 2nd highest gas tax in the nation. (PA is #1)
Premium gas for Blackbird, my hot rod Volvo is up to $4.85 now
The gas tax is also indexed to the cost of living so it goes up every year

I haven't heard about a 16.8% income tax rate..

sales tax varies by city and county
In my neck of the woods it's 8.75%

Vehicle registration is very high too
It's $480/year for my 6 year old Volvo with a Blue Book of $15K
vehicles considered "gas guzzlers" pay additional fees

I think he will lose on election night but his minions will "harvest" enough votes to save him.
As with the last 2 elections in Cali, the "harvest" will continue until the desired results are achieved

Washington State doesn't have an income tax either but the middle class pays more taxes (Washington has the most regressive tax rates in the country) by far than the upper class.

Middle class in Washington State pays 10%.  Upper pays 3%.

Soooo what you are saying is Durrrhh?

Having lived in Cali and mostly raised there. I understand the motivation. Slick Newsome is there telling them they are leading the Nation, and setting a benchmark. Same Shit from Pelosi.

Reality ??? There Ass is in a Bag and they have to beg for Help from The Feds to support the Idiocy.

You are old enough to understand the economics of your household. Now just translate it.

When ST visits you are you Extravagant and Blow all your cash to impress her??

Or do you say I got 20$ wanna see a movie??

Fiscal Responsibility.........

Now....

For 20$ if you show me a pic of SugarTits...

You Can Both go to the movies.

Governor Hair gel is toast. He smells like desperation. What a whiny petulant brat.

He's such a piece of garbage. He doesn't love this state. He loves the power he has here and he knows his political carer in this state is about over. Remember, to send that piece of garbage packing only requires a simple majority... and right now it's a statistical dead heat and gaining momentum daily.

Regarding taxes... one only has to make around $50,000 to be in the top state income tax bracket last I checked. California, top to bottom is the highest taxed state in the union.

When you consider Income Tax (13%), Sales Tax (7.75% - some counties are higher), Property Tax (1.5% on average), Car Registration, and fees for everything you can imagine and some you can't, it's just not even close to any other state. And it gets more expensive every single legislative cycle.

My property tax runs a little under $12k. Next year, it'll definitely be over $12k because I did a horrific thing to my property; I improved it.

California-like taxation is what happens when you let rampant liberalism go unchecked.

I was paying almost that much for a 2010 Toyota Tacoma until it hit the 10 year old mark where the State finally figured the value has dropped enough to give you a f-n break on taxing the dog shit out of you.

Here in Ga, you have to pay the sales tax(7.5% I believe) on the purchase price.  Then your tag renewal is $20/year
