"QUEBEC CITY -- Quebec Liberal opposition leader Dominique Anglade insisted on Wednesday that Christian Dubé is not the minister of vaccination, but rather the minister of health.

She reminded Dubé of his duties, after the minister said, the day before, that he expected service disruptions in hospitals due to the shortage of nurses.

On Tuesday, Dubé had also declared himself surprised by the extent of the shortage."

I am curious how they plan to fire and replace 30000 health care workers from the public sector then

The same is happening here
Many are burning out and retiring.
Younger workers are burning out and moving on.
A whole lot are resigning in the face of vaccine mandates.

I heard an interview of a young health care worker on NPR this morning
He's burned out and choosing a different career.
He said he felt like he was doing important work during the first wave and was willing to
go this extra mile.
Now, with the second (third??) wave his attitude is
"if you are too stupid or politically indoctrinated to refuse the vaccine, I'm not busting my ass
to save your ignorant ass"

I was a little shocked by that, especially when you consider that a whole lot of people refusing the vaccine
come from traditionally blue demographic groups.
People refuse the vaccine for all different kinds of reasons, and it's their right to do so.
Trying to put all of them into one political baskets is not even close to true.

What they have been finding and as many thought were the case since the beginning... Nearly 50% of "hospitalizations" are not direct results of Covid.
People suffering from anything and going to the hospital require covid testing. I heard of guy who went in recently for a stomach ulcer and tested positive and is now in isolation.
Many are asymptomatic.

I really can't believe I am linking to The Atlantic but ....

It's the narrative g,
the government is using the unvaxxed as a scapegoat for the poor state of things, much like Hitler and the Nazi's did...

"Quebec is facing an urgent lack of nurses across the province. The Legault government said it was expecting nurses to come back from vacation this week. Instead, many of them decided to stay home permanently.

Health Minister Christian Dubé was not worried last week during the Coalition Avenir Quebec (CAQ) caucus in Quebec City that 4,000 nurses were missing from the public health network.

He told reporters, ""We have given those nurses summer holidays and most of them will come back around Sept. 15.""

On Sept. 15, Premier François Legault admitted the problem is critical."

They are also reporting that the hospitals are full of "the unvaccinated", no doubt those with medical exemptions from covid vaccines due to immune system deficiencies...

This is terrible...

"QUEBEC CITY -- Health Minister Christian Dubé is maintaining his position that 20,000 health-care workers must still get their two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine by Oct. 15.

He was asked on Thursday about the possible disruption of services that could occur if these 20,000 reluctant workers were to be suspended without pay."

I have been saying this right along having experienced it first hand. I was scheduled for a procedure last April that was cancelled. Three weeks later I was in the OR getting it done because my doctor said it was now an emergency. He told me they did not even look at anything on a case by case basis but just cancelled everything. How much damage has been done I don't think we will ever know.

It's shocking how mishandled the whole thing has been and continues to be.

Quebec backtracks on mandatory vaccination for health care workers, attempts to make mandatory only for new hires.

Over 12000 health care professionals in quebec have not had any doses of the vaccine(s)

My girlfriends niece just quit her job over the healthcare mandate here in Washington State.  She has a medical condition that makes it potentially dangerous to get the vaccine and they didn't give a shit.

I'm wondering how people are going to take it if they start mandating vaccinations to attend school.
I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

No, these are experimental vaccines being distributed under a faux health emergency authorization. I believe it may be approved in 2024 from what I read?

Apples and oranges.

I know some parents who have been vaccinated that won't chance getting their kid a Covid vaccination until it's been around for a few years. Call them crazy.
