I don't know about this particular movie, but, in westerns, there are often scenes of target shooting in the script. and usually in those scenes the camera is behind the shooter, looking over their shoulder, and you see them missing the target or hitting it. I never really thought about how dangerous a scene like that is, before. Just for the reason of having live ammo on site.

these scenes are different from the scenes most used in movies, where you see a guy shoot his pistol and then the scene brakes away to a shot glass in the air exploding. but, of course, those are 2 separate takes without live ammo in the mix.

Live ammunition should NEVER be anywhere near a movie set, according to several experienced Hollywood armorers who have been making public comments about the case.

So yes, whoever it was that brought the live ammo to the set, for whatever reason, shares part of the liability.

It is a reasonable hypothesis that the crew may have been using the Colt for some plinking out in the desert between filming days, but it is absolutely mind-boggling to think they could be careless enough to leave live rounds in the chamber afterward, AND that the Colt could be returned to the set to be used by the actors.

I'm not condoning their use of it for leisure, but it seems that is the only plausible explanation as to how live ammunition was even anywhere near that weapon.
Unless someone INTENDED for it to happen, which is also possible, but highly unlikely.

Yeah, we all heard the theory that the woman who was shot was working on a documentary exposing Hillary Clinton's criminal acts, but that is just the normal conspiracy theory folks who see a conspiracy theory in EVERYTHING.

From what I've heard they were so irresponsible with the weapons on-set that investigators found live rounds mixed in with blanks in boxes of ammo. Everyone responsible for this should go down.

What a piece of garbage Alec Baldwin is. Straight up kills someone and doesn't even face a manslaughter charge. Not even forced to take a safe firearms handling course.... the kind that had he taken it would have saved lives. But no. Not even so.much as a slap on the wrist.

We know that's bullshit on its face because it is mechanically impossible for that to happen unless the firearm was broken or damaged, which it clearly was not.
If it were, the defense would have presented that as the root cause.

He knows deep down that he did pull that trigger.
He also knows he NEVER checked the chamber, and he carelessly pointed it toward people anyway.

So he has to live with that on his conscience whether he receives punishment or not.
Assuming of course that he has a conscience...
