Traffic coming to work this morning was very light, maybe 40% of a regular weekday.
We should do this more often.  :htu:

it irritates me that members of congress can't pass a budget for the entire year. IMO all representives, senators, and Potus, should not get paid during a govt shut down. I suppose that wouldn't hit Trump as hard as it would congress, but it should still be the rule.

So far it hasn't affected me.

The old agree-to-disagree vacation vote. Stay classy San-Diego.

I agree, no work no pay seems pretty fair everywhere else.

That would only hurt the honest ones. They all are rich from insider trading and selling influence. If you told them there was no more pay for congressional roles they would still all do it because the real money comes from on the job graft and corruption.

My wife has a monthly report she has to submit to the Fed's every month.
The report is due no later than the 7th of each month.
The penalties for a late submittal start at $100K/day and go up from there.
The report is a hugely complex beast created by a massive spread sheet and defines
how big a piece of the pie the Feds will extract from the business each month.
It's usually $.5 to 2 million per month.
This report is the stuff of nightmares, often involving 20 to 30 hours straight to get it submitted
on time. Over the years we have come to dread the first week of the month.
An on time submittal has become the equivalent of the sun breaking through the clouds after a hurricane.
This morning we were talking about the government shut down and I asked her if the Milk Market Administrators
would be working. Her head was already in the milk report zone and my question rocked her world.

In 3 weeks teh wifey and I are headed to Yellowstone. It's the last week the West Entrance is open. We've been there for the first week open in May. It's really nice not being too far away. Can't quite make it a day trip... it's about 5-1/2 to 6 hours hours form home.

Guess we'll see what a National Park looks like when a Government Shutdown is in effect.

I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.
