To be honest I don't know what point you were trying to make. People swore Clinton was telling the truth. I did too. So for me, the truth is the truth, until it's not.

You seem to believe that truth exists as a singular unwavering entity, that simply cannot be so, and that is why there is tension between viewpoints. Unless we get to that root, then we can't get far.

Sorry I was a little too subtle; I was attempting to point out the inconsistent/assymetric way most of us perceive "the news." When one of our own does something naughty, we seem less concerned than when one of our sworn enemies does what's essentially the same thing.

Both WJC and DJT have clearly had numerous zipper malfunctions over the years, and yet our lefty liberal friends seem less inclined to give DJT a pass, and our MAGA friends seem concerned (to this day, no less-wow) with that stained blue dress.

Got it. I was a Democrat back then. His zipper problem kept me from voting for him a second time.

I'm an equal-opportunity skeptic; with politicians it's largely the same as with sales critters.

Indeed. Both have, at the very least, been serial womanizers. Neither of these men should be considered role models for much.

I would however press on Bill Clinton a bit harder. But only for one reason; all of his predation was WHILE he held public office. There may have been instances of predatory behavior prior to holding elected office but to the best of my recollection not of it has come to light.

I will ALWAYS hold an elected official to a higher standard regardless of political affiliation because it is a betrayal of public trust.

Personally I was more concerned with his serial sexual predation while he was Governor than a blow job gone wrong... until he LIED to the American people about it.

Americans can be a forgiving people... WHEN you own your mistakes. When you don't... things get viscious.

Few are naive enough to believe that every single married men can withstand a constant barage of sexual suitors. Most take their marriage vows seriously but many do not. Neither Bill nor Donald are without sin in that department.  Bill though.... he did his under the color of authority.  That carries heavier scrutiny.

I always looked at that whole shenanigans as sort of a reverse "Wag the Dog" that a sex scandal was cooked up to distract the American public from multiple bombing campaigns in undeclared wars.
