I suppose that you could console yourself in the knowledge that you didn't fall for taking that vaccine.

What are the long term consequences and costs of getting heart disease, type 2 diabetes, CAD, etc? Most people don't seem all to worried about living a painful and reduced life for a decade or so until they finally die from one of those. How about cancer? There are actually dozens of foods, food additives, and chemicals that are illegal in the EU because they are known cancer causing agents, yet they are still legal in the US and largely consumed. Five times more people die every year from chronic illness that is largely avoidable, than died from Covid-19 in the past year.

Again, in MN the data doesn't support the fear mongering. 5% of the confirmed cases were hospitalized. Of those hospitalized, 25% were ICU, 1% of the total confirmed cases. For those under 60 the hospitalization and death rate is fractions of a percent. I keep hearing people that anecdotally say because they know someone that had trouble with it, we should all be scared. However, that's not what the actual data shows.

Respect your opinion always, Doug, but that is a straw man's argument.

What is straw man argument about the data in MN. The data shows for 99%+ people there is little risk of serious illness from Covid-19.

India is getting bad. Cases and deaths surging. One thing in their advantage is a young demographic. But again, they are experiencing a strong surge right now.

Yes and no. 3000 deaths vs 340000 cases is less than 1%?

Death rates lower in India compared to most countries. They have a higher % of young people.

When there 1.3 BILLION people in a crowded and unsanitary 3rd World Country, anyone think a virulent disease won't run it's course regardless of what us puny humans do?

Bangladesh even more crowded (pop. density). 166 million in a country about the size of Ohio. 'Only' 11,000 deaths recorded. (we can take a lot of countries' data with a grain of salt, though)

India also has very low instances of the typical chronic illnesses that make Covid-19 more serious compared to western countries.

True. Again, it goes back to India having a very young population. Young people don't have chronic illnesses.

If the vaccine is 90% effective, they're still a threat to that 10% vaccinated but susceptible.  Going back to that old bulletproof vest analogy, when you get vaccinated you're now wearing ballistic armor over your whole body, but your face (10%) is still exposed.  Do you want to get shot at?

They are touting the vaccines as 100% effective at preventing serious illness.

Honestly, we can take our own country's data with a grain of salt as well unfortunately.  Can't trust a damn thing our government says. There's almost always some P.O.S. bureaucrat or politician behind nearly all of it.
