it is, but if you take a look at the numbers the are comparing dismal numbers to devastating numbers. We don't live in Illinois but I'm close to the border and have a lot of friends there. So that article got share a lot around me. It was one of the driving factors in my daughter's decision to homeschool her children.

As far as science goes, it would probably surprise you, the emphasis that a catholic school, for instance, puts on science. I can't speak for other denominations or charter schools.

We have public schools that do not have profit as their number one motive. And look at how far the reading and math levels are compared to schools that are "for profit."

So the solution is to eliminate all public schools?

I never said we need to completely eliminate the current system. Just give us a choice. Like schools, a taxpayer subsidized choice.

Because at the end of the day it's not politicians who run it..
The military has been a public institution since it started and republicans fall over themselves to report it. Why does healthcare have to be different?

What changed about your insurance after Obamacare?

That's probably a dumb question, but other than premiums/deductibles/max out-of-pocket costs rising, which was already happening anyway, we didn't notice much of a difference here.

Shitty insurance at 4 times the price.
My bill for the first 4 hours I was in the hospital recently was $40K and I am fighting to get our insurance company
to accept responsibly for any of it.
