I'm sure this is going over like a fart in church.

"Democrat Gov. Gavin Newsom signed a bill into law that bans the sale of new Glock guns in California.

At issue, the new Glock design allows the gun to be easily modified with a Lego-sized piece of plastic known as a "Glock Switch" that can be 3-D printed to turn it into a fully automatic weapon.

Glock "switches" are already illegal, but Democratic lawmakers in California went one step further by passing a bill along party lines that outlaws the sale of any new gun with a Glock-like design. The new law does not ban possession of Glocks, nor does it ban reselling used Glocks in California.

Southern California Assemblymember Jesse Gabriel, who introduced Assembly Bill 1127, said he hopes this legislation forces Glock to change its design so "switches" no longer work.  "

Quote from: mowens on October 15, 2025, 12:00 PMA fully automatic Glock sounds impractical.
Or at least expensive.  A couple years ago, there was a shooting that left holes in a wall and window of an apartment or two, and several cars on the block.  No one injured, or at least that stuck around.  Cops had to send a junior officer back to the station to get more of those little plastic A-frame cards they use as evidence markers because they ran out, and that's with seven or eight squad cars on hand.  They found something like a hundred eighty shell casings on the scene.

Stand by to not be able to buy Glocks in other states as all product possible will be shipped to the People's Republik of Kommieforniastan until they can no longer be sold.

That's what happened with standard 30 round capacity magazines during Freedom Week.

Probably likely to hit a bunch of targets you weren't intending to hit.

I came here specifically to see Nutboy's take and of course, she didn't disappoint. Now, what the hell is "Freedom Week?"

The Supreme Court threw out California's 10+ round magazine ban.
It took Newsome a week to get an appeal filed.
For one week Californians could legally buy magazines with more than 10 round capacity.

I probably bought a dozen or so mags that week. ... for a gun I only shoot for proficiency.

Where I live now, I can go belt fed if I want to.

Ever since I was a kid, I've just always been a bolt gun guy. Nothing against the AR platform, just like bolt action when I'm shooting for recreation.

So great that all the nutters called it "Freedom Week." And speaking of nuts, the next post showed that many of them went even nuttier and used that week to stock up on ammo for the threat that lives magnificently in their hollow craniums. Look out! They're coming for your guns!
