Quote from: neurosis on October 16, 2025, 11:16 AMThere are some people who are benefiting greatly from Trumps policy, that's for sure.

When people say that they think the Country is going to benefit from all Trump has done, I wonder what that's based on?

So far 17 Trillion invested in this Country in 10 months. Most of the places hasn't even been built yet. Fairer trade, more money from NATO. If your hate of Trump wasn't so bad you would see this.

Social Security has and is fully funded since inception. Just raise the earning limit to bring additional income.

Trump is the first president (republican or democrat) who has stood up to China.

Trump has closed the border

QuoteWorse, Mayorkas could not confirm that every suspected terrorist that crosses the Southwest border illegally is detained by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), while Wray admitted that the FBI is still attempting to locate certain individuals on the terrorist watchlist who have crossed into the United States.

I don't know if that it totally accurate?

"There are broader claims by President Trump of up to $17 trillion in new investments, which include projected and pledged amounts tied to policies such as the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act and trade actions. Independent analyses suggest that the $17 trillion figure is significantly inflated or speculative. The White House itself lists total investments at around $8.8 trillion, but this number may include some investments initially made during the previous administration and future planned investments. Foreign investments have also been significant, totaling about $3.3 trillion from partners like the UAE, Japan, Saudi Arabia, and India."

For me, it's way too soon to know anything for sure, but I do know that our reputation around the world has taken a huge hit. I suppose nobody who voted for Trump cares about that. Prices sure as hell haven't come down since he took office (and they don't like like they're going to any time soon), even though he constantly says that they have. Probably because he promised they would "immediately".

When these investment agreements come via threat, I don't have faith in them

I can only hope that his tariff policy doesn't turn out as expected. We're in a position now where I don't think he can remove the tariffs without devastating our economy? That's according to him.

I'm glad I'm not a poor person. Yet.

So far nothing has gotten better, he hasn't touched inflation at all, jobs are down. He hasn't even built his damn wall and he controls all branches of government

Don't throw stones when you live in a glass house.  :D

It's not as bad here as it is there, yet. Hopefully I'll be retired and living on the other side of the State before that happens.

Anyone who "invests" into the system is entitled at the very least get back what they put in regardless of their income level.

true but gcode will be headed east before much longer

I'm am convinced the 2026 state elections will have severe consequences for Cali and I plan on being long gone by then.

Cali's next governor will make Newsome look like a wise elder conservative statesman.

Crazy cubed would be an upgrade for the current crop Dem gubernatorial candidates.

You do recall that there was a bipartisan border bill set to pass last year before drumpf started shrieking to grenade it so that he could campaign on the previous administration not solving the border crisis.

Uh, dude.  That's not how taxes and social programs work.  The haves subsidize the have-nots, to keep a functioning society.  The rich require the working poor to exist and participate in order for them to become rich(er).
Interesting fact: many of the social programs like EIC and SNAP effectively subsidize corporations by making it so that people can afford to live on the shit wages paid by many large employers such as McDonalds and Walmart, etc.  The only other option for a stable functioning society would be a livable minimum wage.  You don't think it's reasonable for a guy like Jeff Bezos who's made billions off the backs of those working stiffs to pay into a system designed to keep them from starving or ending up homeless when they are old or become disabled after sacrificing their existence to his greed?

That wouldn't drop the illegal crossing to zero. And btw, immigrants are still coming in , but legally.

This is fantastic, and your efforts to make California even better aren't going unnoticed. Is there any way we can thank you?
