No, it's not that at all. We should not be believing anyone that pulls the "settled science" card for one regardless of their affiliations (politicians, "scientists", etc...)

There is only one "REAL" reality that we can actually live in. If new facts do not conform to the current paradigm the whole paradigm must be thrown out. This is REAL science. Real scientists WANT to be proven wrong. Not confirmed. That is core to the real scientific method.

The problem with being shown that you are wrong as a scientist is that your money all goes away then and who wants that! Its all about the money baby! Give me enough money and i will make sure the science is settled exactly how you want it!

That's true, but now, other people want that money.

I'm not saying that data can't be influenced by biased funding. I'm saying that we live in a time where there are a lot of other scientists that have a platform to disprove false information. And it's easier to look that shit up now.

I will state it again. If you try to challenge the current paradigm they will destroy you.

Professor Peter Ridd is a geophysicist with over 100 publications and 35 years' experience working on the Great Barrier Reef; he developed a wide range of world-first optical and electronic instruments for measuring environmental conditions near corals and other ecosystems. He was Professor of Physics at James Cook University in North Queensland for over a decade before being fired in 2018 for pointing out serious quality assurance issues in reef science. He challenged his dismissal by the University and won in principle in the High Court but eventually lost the case on appeal on a technicality. He now volunteers his time to the Institute of Public Affairs to improve quality assurance systems of "science" used by Australian governments to make environmental laws and  regulations. He also runs the Reef-Rebels YouTube channel.

There are 1000's of scientists out there that have an opportunity to make a name for themselves by discrediting settled science. And there are platforms for them to do that now.
