Zero Hedge

QuoteBefore corporate media ever descended on the small Appalachia town of Charleroi, Pennsylvania, ZeroHedge had boots on the ground in the late summer of 2024, uncovering a network of labor mules, migrant workers (both legal and illegal), and a web of corruption and exploitation of poor migrants enabled by the Biden-Harris regime's open-border and lax immigration policies to replace native workers.

Many of these migrants were employed by a meatpacking plant known as Fourth Street Barbecue, also operating under the name Fourth Street Foods. They displaced native-born workers, drained local resources, and wired their paychecks overseas to third-world countries. The result: another small town gutted in real time by globalist policies for short-term profits.

QuoteNow, the consequences of open-border policies and lax immigration policies that enabled migrants to be funneled into the small town could be set to unleash what some folks at the local level are calling a "humanitarian disaster" in the making. This is because Fourth Street Barbecue is planning to shut down its plants at the end of the month after defaulting on more than $80 million in loans, according to local media outlet WTAE.

The plant's closure means that most of its workers, Haitian migrants under Temporary Protected Status (TPS), will soon be jobless and, once their TPS protections expire, reclassified as illegal. Imagine that - half a town full of illegals.

The article is a year old.
The meat plant bankruptcy is a recent event.

Wasn't Fourth Street Barbecue suffering severe labor shortages before the immigrants started taking the jobs?

"The company, located in Charleroi, Pennsylvania, was struggling to fill nearly a thousand jobs due to a declining local population and a lack of qualified local applicants."

Not to question the accuracy or bias of Zerohedge reporting  :sofa:

Sounds like the company supplying their labor has been investigated a couple times, and now this administration is wreaking havoc for the company.
"Employment of people in the grey area of immigration legality – that's not being permitted anymore. It's being severely punished by the Trump administration. The business model becomes unprofitable because of regulatory change."

Maybe some of the white people Trump is inviting in because of "political persecution" will work there and fill the void. :)

I hope those white folks have good fruit picking, landscaping, roofing, construction, table bussing, etc skills because it appears there are going to be a lot of those jobs opening up!

Did you know that if you point out acts of racism being perpetrated by actual racists, other racists will call you a racist?
