I've got a lot of parts and a couple of years of my life riding on that rocket.
A couple of weeks ago a team from Aerojet came by with a poster they wanted everyone who worked on that project to sign. They said it was going on a wall in mission control.
I got busy and went I went to sign it, they were already gone so I didn't get to sign it.

I really hope the stuff I built doesn't get used. It's all part of the capsule ejection system that separates
the capsule from the rocket in the event of an emergency.
If the launch goes well, all  my work will fall into the ocean, unused.
If my work gets used, something has gone very wrong.

At this point I think NASA is nothing more that a very expensive government jobs program.
Elon Musk and reusable rockets are what is going to colonize space.

We had a similar banner for the Artemis at my gig too. (we do a lot of stuff for Northrup)
I resisted the temptation to sign Dixie Normus or Richard Cranium for my name. I think I would of gotten a serious talking to had I followed though on that one.

It is kinda interesting work. Biggest obstacle is getting the raw material. The majority of the parts we do are kinda big forgings rings (something like 6' dia) that apparently only a select few forging houses can supply. And when it does show up, you get a bunch at once. Storing 50 plus 6' diameter rings gets to be a challenge in itself.
