Quote from: Rstewart on January 05, 2026, 03:22 PMWhile Alabama laid an egg, making it to the second round of the playoffs is saying something.
Saying they don't belong in the playoffs is kind of ridiculous.
I'd probably say the same thing if it were Michigan. But a 3 loss team has no place in the playoffs when there are 2 loss teams waiting in the wings like ND and BYU.
I've said it before, I'm one of the biggest ND haters there is, but they got screwed by the committee slobbing all over Bama and keeping them in.
Not to mention the bullshit decision to put Tulane and James Madison in the playoffs. Anyone on that committee that agreed with that decision has no business making decisions.

At least Alabama gave us one good playoff game, those other two were pitiful

The U advances to the National Championship!

The game was...meh until the 4th quarter. 4 lead changes.
Overall really good game. Miami had way too many penalties, played sloppy.
Time of possession was 40+ minutes for Miami.
I hope that Chambliss kid is granted another year of eligibility, he's damn good.

Ok, fine. This IU team might be for real.

That was hard to say.

Indiana is playing like a team of destiny.

Yeah they're unstoppable. They just don't make mistakes.

Mendoza is 31 for 36 and 8 td's in his last 2 games. His back shoulder throw was insanely accurate Friday night! You just can't defend that throw.

Now in all of their close games this year, the only outlier was that they were held to less than 4 yards per carry.
When they ran over 4 yards per carry they won their games by 25 or more.
Miami has a top 6 rushing defense so the championship game will be interesting.

It appears that the NCAA denied him another year. And they are suing.
Filing a lawsuit is plain stupid.

"Ole Miss quarterback Trinidad Chambliss is seeking another year of eligibility from the NCAA due to medical issues at Ferris State, but the NCAA denied his waiver request, citing insufficient documentation, leading his legal team, including attorney Tom Mars, to announce plans to file a lawsuit in Mississippi state court for a preliminary injunction to play in 2026.
Chambliss, a Heisman candidate after leading Ole Miss to the CFP, needs this eligibility granted to continue his college career, with the lawsuit aiming to challenge the NCAA's decision in a state court."

Dude is gonna be 24 the whole next season. Then next season some 25 year old is gonna want eligibility, then the year after that, some 26 year old dude is gonna be asking. There's some parent of a kid in Junior High that's old enough to drive right now looking to be a stud 17 year old freshman in High School next year.

No. Just no. Go into the NFL or get on with your life. It's time.

Thanks the NIL $$$.

A lot of these "kids" are making more in college than NFL QBs on their rookie deals.

CNCAppsJames

1st. we need to stop calling these legal adults "kids". They can and do sign legally binding contracts. Are they equipped to handle the responsibility of that contract? Probably at the same rate the average college student has the wherewithal to understand the gravity of that $100k in debt that they are on the hook for.

2nd. NIL... it was destined to happen for a wide variety of reasons.

The NIL contracts are only going to get larger and larger, and quickly. Soon the NFL will feel the hit when these kids don't need that money and don't enter the draft.
Once that happens, there will be a change. I personally hate the NFL and don't want to see my beloved college football turn into that.

Brother, College FB is already Jr. NFL   Why you hate the NFL?

Jeff

Quote from: Rstewart on January 15, 2026, 04:03 PMWhy you hate the NFL?

Because it's boring.
College football is way more exciting. Not just high scoring games, but so many times I've seen a team in the 4th quarter leading by 3 or more td's only to lose the game.
That doesn't happen in the NFL, whenever a team is up by that much you can turn the game off.

That and the Lion's decision to extend Stat Padford's contract was the last straw.

Smit

So you got this NFL quarterback who is really good playing for a team that is really shitty. In fact they're historically shitty.

The really good NFL quarterback does his job, well, really well. He puts up great stats that on a decent team would likely carry them deep into the playoffs.

Somehow, some NFL fans interpret the good stats he gets from being a really good quarterback is actually a sign that he's being selfish so they hate on him.  :headscratch:

I guess those fans think if you're a quarterback on a shitty team you should put up shitty stats to show your support for the shitty team? To show you're humble and not wanting to show people up? :headscratch:

Kinda hard to understand that reasoning.  :headscratch:

As time goes on, the really good NFL quarterback is traded to a really good team and he puts up great stats and wins a championship ring.
