I don't think we have to worry about anyone changing their mind about this one

Who thinks the next AG will be able to prosecute Trump's "enemies" without evidence that it will satisfy Trump?

Why in the fuck would anybody accept that job?!?!

Think back Bill Barr. When he was in agreement with Trump the left hated him. Then when he turned on trump and sided with the election steal he was all of the sudden this highly principled Republican. You can find this same flip flop from the left over and over again with ex Trump insiders.

Oh Little Dougie, there you go again with your stolen election fantasy; just dropping it into the conversation nonchalantly, as if no one would notice.

Perhaps what you are mistaking for adoration on the left for former Trump staffers is actually acknowledgment and appreciation that some republicans actually won't break the law to the extent that Trump wants them to.

Let's take Liz Cheney as an example: To most on the left, she was and is a piece of shit. That she understood and called out Trump for losing, and later, trying to steal an election is merely her doing her job. 95% of progressives wouldn't elect her to the position of dog catcher.

If that doesn't help clear things up for you or the others with TDS (Trump Devotion Syndrome), we can delve deeper into the subject.

Again you completely missed the point. It's about credibility. When you continually bash someone as evil, incompetent, etc. but then when it fits try to say they principled and intelligent, you lose your credibility.  That's what the left doesn't seem to realize. When your not triggered by emotions you notice when people contradict themselves.

Any Republican who displays "principles" is a RINO. That is why the Repugs turned on Bill Barr, Liz Cheney, John McCain, etc.

By the same token, when a regular person sees somebody do something principled they will give him credit for it.

A pretty low bar overall, but yeah, very high for MAGA republicans. Like you.

I see we have to keep trying, which is okay, because I know this is difficult for conservative "thinkers."

The left doesn't fall all over these people for doing the correct thing; they simply acknowledge and respect it. The reason this is so difficult for Trump supporters is that they spend every waking hour defending and deflecting their hero's actions, no matter how atrocious they may be.

A challenge for any Trump supporter: Point out one policy he had enacted that you disagree with, and why. This is not a difficult exercise if one actually uses their brain, so give it your best effort.

We're all pulling for you.

Off the top of my head, the 50 year mortgage BS is not the answer to housing affordability. I know there has been other policies I don't agree with, but i don't recall specific policy versus just him spouting off about something. What I really don't like is his personality and lack of professionalism. I don't like how childish and petty gets with his name calling and other immature BS.

Actually he asked a legitimate question so I answered. that's how you have an actual conversation with someone you don't agree with.

Here is a refresher to the saga of William Barr during his time in AG.

Only compared to Pam Bondi will he be remembered as a "highly principled" Republican.

There were a few lines Barr wouldn't cross when Trump asked him. Bondi had no lines she wouldn't cross to appease Trump.

I've posted a few key points below, but the whole article is worth reading. I expect many people have forgotten his term as AG.

Barr departing Justice Department following tenure packed with controversy

Excerpt:
QuoteAnd before his most recent statements confirming the department had uncovered no widespread fraud that could overturn the results of the 2020 election, during the COVID-19 pandemic Barr was among those repeatedly pushing conspiracies about foreign countries being able to mail in millions of ballots into the U.S.

"Good for him for finally stopping the godawful onslaught that he engaged in," said former deputy attorney general Donald Ayer, who served alongside Barr, during the attorney general's first tenure in the George H.W. Bush administration but has since become one of his most vocal critics. "But everything he did, will stand as a monument to inappropriate behavior by an attorney general."

Finally, in a very not Pam Bondi-ish moment...Barr ignored Trumps demands to "investigate" his political "enemies."

QuoteDespite a laundry list of actions that had landed him among President Trump's most favored Cabinet members, Barr's relationship with Trump deteriorated in the months leading up to the 2020 election as he ignored the president's public pleas to announce investigations that Trump hoped to use for his political benefit.
