It's deja vu all over again
Here we are in 2021
Inflation is coming back with a vengeance.
Violence, terrorism and rocket attacks are flaring up in the Middle East.
Joe Biden is giving Jimmie Carter a serious challenge for the title of
"Worst President Ever"
and now the latest flashback from the 70's, gas lines

Due to a ransomware hack, a pipeline supplying 45% of the gas for the East Coast is down.
Gas lines are showing up as supplies dwindle, truckers are declining to drive into
the dry zones and grocery stores will be running out of food soon.
They say the pipeline will be back in service by the weekend... but in today's
"just in time" economy, this weekend is a long ways off.

I just heard a report that people on the left coast are going nuts and unnecessarily panic buying gas.    I suppose the 'unnecessary' part is in the eye of the beholder.

QuoteMany motorists took to social media to share shocking scenes of massive lines at gas stations — often just to find no gas left.

And that's how it started with the toilet paper.
I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

don't you mean "right coast"
we can't afford gas on the left coast.. premium is pushing $5/gallon

I mean to say 'east coast' but my fingers typed left for some reason.

I thought this was going to be about double digit inflation and 21% mortgage rates.

QuoteWe went from energy independence to gas shortages.
From a secure southern border to a humanitarian...surrounding US Navy.
From a resurgent economy to a disastrous jobs report.
All in a little over 100 days. Thanks Bidan.

^^^ REKT said it well^^^

They always knew how to do it
They figure it's safe now
The Feds are too busy getting woke and going to critical race theory classes now to chase down hackers

You're going to blame inflation in the first three months of Biden? Ha!

yes..  I've lost count of how many trillions of $$$ he's handed out in stimulus payments and
Federal unemployment bennies.
Much of the inflations is caused by pent up demand as CV-19 restrictions are loosened.
but a simple economic law still applies
If you dump unlimited supplies of cash into the economy, prices will rise to absorb it.

Take a look at the college price inflation during Obama's term when he was giving away loans for anyone and everyone.

But never mind the last four years of Trump giving away money to corporations, and his 10 months of stimulus and unemployment benefits

it's the same thing...the colleges get  unlimited $$$$ in the form of student loans
they blow it on fancy gyms, luxurious dorms, legions of administrators all geared
to recruiting even more students with more student loans to bleed white.

The results are ever escalating tuition costs, a lop sided teacher /administrator ratio
a ridiculous pay scale for tenured professors who do next to nothing,
thousand of kids in college who have no business being there and more thousands graduating
with massive debts and worthless degrees.
Now the Biden Admin is under tremendous pressure tp wipe these debts clean
so we'll just roll the scales back to zero and do it all over again.
or
they'll make college free .. which will make the problems twice as bad at three times the cost
