Why is that? He was one of the moderators at the infamous debate. What about his co-author Alex Thompson? He's a reporter for Axios.
The book is certainly not pro Trump.
The book details how a small group of advisors, dubbed "the politburo," isolated Biden from the press, his cabinet, and even his own pollsters, especially after the debate. This inner circle filtered all information, leading Biden to believe his polling was strong because that is what they told him. Additionally, the book highlights the significant influence Jill and Hunter Biden had on his reelection bid, as well as the heavy personal toll Hunter's legal situation took on the president.
Only after a post-debate fundraiser intended to reassure donors did high-profile supporters like George Clooney and Julia Roberts see Biden's decline and call for him to drop out.

Asked to comment for this story, the White House said Trump acts in an "ethically-sound manner" and that any suggestion to the contrary is either "ill-informed or malicious." It reiterated that his assets are in a trust managed by his children and stated he has "no involvement" in family business deals.   

"There are no conflicts of interest," said spokesperson Anna Kelly.   

In a separate statement, the Trump Organization said it is "fully compliant with all applicable ethics and conflicts of interest laws" and added, "The implication that politics has enriched the Trump family is unfounded."
