Yep. Wilson makes $5 million a year, so a $5K fine is like a parking ticket.

Well the first 5 minutes of the Rangers / Caps game last night was interesting.
Standing room only in both penalty boxes for a while there.

Good on the Rangers for stepping up.

Even though they eventually lost the game, they made their point that they were not going to be intimidated by goons like Tom Wilson.

If the league won't protect them, it's nice to see that the players will still step up for each other.

Agreed.
His perspective isn't the greatest.
The Rangers were asking the league to have Parros removed from that position for that very reason, but it's probably not happening.

Tough guys who drop the gloves and square off with each other is one thing.
That has always been a part of the game.
Whether we agree with it or not, that has always been the way players earn respect.

Tom Wilson is a dirty player and a goon.
That's another thing altogether.
He is a cheap-shot artist out there trying to injure people, and there is no room in the game for that.

We all saw the video of him trying to smash Panarin's head into the ice...twice.
That had nothing to do with earning respect.
The guy is just a psychopath IMO who is eventually going to end someone's career, or worse.

caps/bruins play game 1 on the 15th. Meanwhile Vancouver and Calgary have to play 3 regular season games against each other AFTER the 15th.

Grrrrr...
Lots of regular season games postponed because of COVID had to be made up.

You would think the league would make sure all regular season games were finished before the playoffs start, but that would make too much sense...

their games don't matter in the playoff seeding, so they're pretty much going to be playing for draft lottery odds. I expect that's the only reason they're making them play those last 3 games.

I like the Pens' chances of a deep playoff run.

I'm pretty sure they will have just about everyone available among the guys who were injured.
We had an anxious moment there when both goalies were dinged up for the last game, but our AHL guy came in and delivered a nice 1-0 shutout.

If the Pens have a 100% healthy roster, they are going to be tough to beat.

He is a dirty player...he doesn't pull that crap with Vegas or he will be dealing with Ryan Reeves.

As mentioned earlier, IMO Wilson is a dirty player and a goon who doesn't deserve to drive the Zamboni around an NHL rink.

The league coddles this guy for some odd reason, so he just keeps doing the same old nonsense over and over.

Yeah I think he fought Ryan Reeves when Reeves was with the Pens, and Wilson got the worst of that iirc. :huh:

Hopefully Wilson gets what's coming to him and these type of guys always do .Can't wait for the playoffs .I think the East is the division to watch lots of talent .

the Wild pretty much fell over on their way to the end of the season. Thankfully so did Vegas, which is probably their best chance of surviving the first round. Should be a fun series, they match up really well, but the Wild have had their number since Vegas started.

The Pens had the Islanders number all season long, winning 6 of 8 from them.
However, when the playoffs start, all of that goes out the window.

The Pens lost a heartbreaker to the Isles in overtime of Game 1 after dominating in puck possession for most of the OT period.
But the Islanders got the last shot, and that's the only one that counts.
On to Game 2 Tuesday!
