This is a little confusing.... ???  ;D
Do you uninstall 2026 and/or 2026R2 before installing this update?

QuoteUse this product to install Mastercam 2026.R2 Update 1 on a 64-bit operating system. It will not run on a 32-bit OS.

This product is a standalone installation and should not be installed on top of any previous versions of Mastercam 2026. Mastercam 2026 and Mastercam 2026.R2 cannot be installed on the same system. To uninstall Mastercam 2026.R2, go to Control Panel > Programs and Features and select Remove next to the Mastercam 2026 icon.

You must have a maintenance expiration date of January 31, 2026 or later to run this product. The version number of Mastercam.exe is 28.0.8789.0.

I asked the same on the mothership forum.  The response was that you can let mastercam auto-update from R1 Update 1, or R2, no need to uninstall.  The R2 U1 on the downloads page is a standalone install, and for that you would want to uninstall previous 2026 version, but you don't need to clear the registry or remove my- and shared- mastercam folders.

I ran a repair installation on an existing R2 installation. It did update it to R2-update 1 and and the bug I was seeing in transform appears to be resolved.

Only if you are doing the full install, downloaded ~2G file from the mastercam site.
If you use auto update from R1 U1 or R2, no need to uninstall.  If you don't get the update notification when you launch 2026, check the system tray for the mastercam updater, right click and select "check for updates".

I've seen reports that it didn't work for some people.  Sorry to hear you were one.  I seem to remember some sort of language pack conflicts.  Did you have French installed in your previous 2026 version?

My R2 Update 1 update was uneventful.

The Planes Manager ... when you change G/WCS/T/C kinda seems a little sketchy for me. I suspect my video card settings may need some fine tuning.

Everything else seems to be behaving as expected... so far. Doing some heavy surfacing and 5-Axis work next week. We shall see.

If I may make a suggestion.
Start your new project in 2025.
Once you get a good start on it open it in 2026.
I am doing a part in 2026 this week. Nothing fancy I am not using solids for anything except eye candy.
I started my roughing using 3D Optirough and Area Rough.
Performance was terrible with long delays opening and closing parameter pages and geometry creation windows.
I decided I could rough this part old school better than what I was getting with stock model driven high speed paths.
I dumped all my roughing and stated over. Performance is better, but still unacceptable.
I have not had this issue with previous 2026 releases. I am at a loss to explain it and have yet to find a solution.

Again this part is nothing fancy, just a bunch of 3+2 milling and drilling. I'm too deep into it to start over now.
I'm just going to have to slog through it. I will be sending this file to QC when I'm done.

I have also been dealing with this.  Sometimes I even create a new plane and it does not even show up in the planes manager.  It will only show if i create another plane and then the one that didn't show up will magically appear.

Also sometimes it refuses to do anything when I click the = button

I'm wondering if because Mastercam is offloading tasks to the GPU now (Verify), that we have to add Mastercam 2026 to the NVidia Control Panel. I'm going to try that and see if that changes anything.

R2 definitely has sensitivity to NVIDIA drivers at this time- ensure you're updated for proper simulation performance, for example.

The planes follow behavior is not a graphics driver issue and is on our radar.

if you are getting lots of lag in dialog boxes
try opening a verify window and leave it open on the side

I installed the latest greatest Nvidia drivers recently.
I noticed this morning that the "Manage 3D Settings drop down was set to "Base Profile"
I have changed it back to "Workstation AP-Dynamic Streaming" and rebooting.
I'm hoping this will clear up the menu popup delays I'm having

Is there any guidance for the proper settings in "Manage 3D Settings"
