I recall blaming Trump for poo-pooing the virus and calling it a Democrat scam until it was too late to limit its spread, but did we blame Trump for toilet paper scalpers?  I don't recall that...

Remember Trump shutting down travel before the dims wanted to? He wasn't poo pooing anything, he was calling the dims out on their BS agenda and claiming he's doing everything wrong, that was the hoax. But your hatred of him will never let you see it.

"One of my people came up to me and said, 'Mr. President, they tried to beat you on Russia, Russia, Russia.' That didn't work out too well. They couldn't do it. They tried the impeachment hoax. That was not a perfect conversation. They tried anything. They tried it over and over. They'd been doing it since you got in. It's all turning. They lost. It's all turning. Think of it. Think of it. And this is their new hoax."

you honestly don't think the dems would be blaming him for the gas hikes/shortages? oh wait you're right, cause there wouldn't be one. he already had the vaccine on the move and zero credit there too, and ..... never mind, when people have their blinders on they just cannot grasp the big picture..

Yeah, the gas shortage isn't the presidents fault but the gas prices are.

You want the president to overrule supply and demand economics?  How; have the Fed print more gasoline?
[/quote]

Well shutting down (not renewing) drilling contracts on federal land and not allowing for new pipelines has a lot to do with supply and demand economics. Shipping oil by train is a lot more expensive than pipeline but a certain billionaire democratic contributing railroad owner is now reaping his rewards.

It's a lot more dangerous..... and creates far more pollution too.

Trump never shut down travel.  He reduced travel from certain locations.  When trying to contain a contagion that's as good as doing nothing.

Not totally because it would have prevented Americans from coming home. You think they weren't tested/quarantined once they arrived? You can't just shut down travel and not allow your own citizens a chance at getting home.

If it wasn't a full ban otherwise why were the dipshits outraged? And saying it was "too soon"...

No, most people travelling at that time were not tested or quarantined, only those entering from certain countries.  So people could just travel through an allowed country to get in.  If you recall, tests were very few and far between at that time, and reserved for those with known contact with someone who had already tested positive, or the rich and powerful.  If you're not going to fully cut off travel and quarantine EVERYONE that enters, from anywhere, you may as well not have any restrictions at all, because it's going to get in.  And as we've seen, two weeks isn't a long enough quarantine, some people are infectious longer than that, though at the time we had no idea how long someone could be contagious for.  Two weeks was a WAG.

I can't answer why certain Democrats did what they did, I never said I agreed with them.  But they did have something of a point, in that restricting travel from certain countries but not others does much of the harm and little to none of the good.  It's a bad compromise.
