my mom just got notice for jury duty. she passed away last year.
all state and fed departments were notified.
my real curiousity is she going to receive a mail in ballet for next election? hum? last election ballot was mailed to me. as power of attorney I could have filled it out for her but in honesty did not as her and i do not agree regarding voting issues.

AFAIK most counties use the voter rolls as their jury duty pool as well.
In other words, if you are registered to vote, you can also be called for jury duty.

So when you say 'all state and federal departments' were notified, I would be willing to wager your county Voter Registration department was not notified, or they were and simply never removed her name.  I believe if you call that specific office and tell them your Mom is deceased, they will (or should) remove her name from the voter registration database.  That should also prevent her name coming up for jury duty again, and it should prevent any further mail-in ballots being sent.

I love a good conspiracy theory as much as the next guy, but in this case it's most likely just a clerical error.  :rtfm:

Remember, it's a clerical error only if it's made by somebody in your party. :D

Brace yourselves...

Back in the early 90's... I was selected for a criminal trial. A guy in his 50's was molesting several of his nieces. Digital penetration, forced oral copulation, forced masturbation and a few other things that are too graphic/sickening to mention with/to them.

The incidents had happened a couple years prior to the trial over the course of several years which would have put 2 of the girls under 7 (IIRC), one under 10 and one under 12. The youngest girls gave extraordinarily graphic details  of the experiences and we had ZERO doubt he had done these things and possibly worse. Trial lasted 15 days total including deliberations. It was gut wrenching. There were some 55 counts against the guy.

We found him guilty on all but one charge. The most minor charge. We refused to find on the one charge not because he wasn't guilty of it but because we wanted to send a message to the prosecutor that we thought he screwed up on something and we knew after the trial he would ask about it. We were not disappointed. He asked, and we gave him the litany of things we thought he did wrong in presenting the evidence. He took notes and thanked us. The defense asked us some questions too. Probably probing for reasons to appeal. He got nothing from us. We told him his client deserves to be hanged publicly. That cut the questions short.

My heart just sank for those girls. They would forever be scarred from the experience. Innocence stolen. All because some addicted to porn pedophile had the opportunity to abuse the trust of the family. The guy's wife... she deserved to rot along with him in prison. She knew "something" was wrong but refused to listen to that inner voice.

I went to the sentencing hearing. I was the only juror to do so. He got 35 to life. Back then, child molesters were serving nearly their whole sentences unlike to day... MAYBE half especially now because the scamdemic/plandemic is going full tilt and bleeding heart judges don't want rapists, child molesters and violent offenders to get sick in jail. Waaaaa. Anyway, so it was pretty much a life sentence for that turd bucket.

My hope is the Custody Deputies let it be known he was a convicted child molester so nature could take it's course and he would get passed around like a pack of smokes.

I wrote about this before in eMC OT. I was on jury duty twice in Detroit. The first time was armed robbery, carjacking, along with some lesser charges like felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of a firearm while commuting a crime, etc. The second time was felony murder. Basically, they beat a guy to death with a metal pipe.

In the first trial, the guy hid in the alley and robbed the liquor truck driver when he pulled up at the back door to make a delivery at a liquor store. He pulled a gun on the driver, took his money, phone, etc, then stole the liquor truck. Unfortunately for the criminal, there had been a string of recent robberies just like this. The head of security for the liquor company was a retired cop from DPD and kept up on local crime because of it. Typically, the liquor trucks were abandoned in a certain residential area. When he was notified of this robbery, he jumped in the car with another employee and headed to the known "drop off" point for the trucks. There was his liquor truck! As they pulled up, someone was standing on the step near the driver's door. They saw the car come to a screeching halt and they took off running. The security guy jumped out and told him to stop and the "criminal" turned and fired a few shots at him as he ran away. He ended up getting away. A few weeks later, they got an anonymous tip via phone and they arrested the guy. The defense said it may have been the defendant who was standing on the truck step when the security guy pulled up, but that doesn't mean that he robbed the guy and stole the truck. He could've been just checking out the abandoned truck that someone else left there.

In the second trial, a guy was gonna get a tattoo done at his girlfriend's house so he had some cash on him to pay for it. The tattoo artist never showed so around 3-4AM, he decided to leave his girlfriend's house and stop to buy some weed on the way home to his house. He pulled up into the driveway of where he buys it and two guys come outside, one at the driver's window and the other at the passenger side of the car. When he pulls out his money to pay for it, they see the roll of cash he has. Seeing the cash, the guy at the driver's window attacks him from that side while the other guy goes at him from the passenger side. The fight spilled out into the street, 2 on 1, where one of the 2 picked up a metal pipe that was laying around and they ended up beating the guy to death in the street. Meanwhile, someone hopped in the guy's car and drove it off. It was later found on fire on a dead end road. He was such a bloody mess after being beaten, they were only able to identify him by some other tattoos that he had. I'm pretty sure both guys who attacked him were 23 years old at the time. Before this was able to go to trial, the passenger's side window attacker was murdered. During the trial, one of the witnesses had their house firebombed the day of their testimony while still at court. The jury was also sent back to the jury room one day for no apparent reason. We found out later that a family member of the defendant, who was sitting in the audience, was making the "finger across the throat" gesture, along with other forms of intimidation, to a witness who was testifying against the defendant. While we were in the jury room, that family member was arrested and taken into custody. In the end, the defendant was found guilty and given life in prison with no possibility of parole.

Pretty much the same with our victim.
She described her ordeal in graphic detail, which was very difficult to listen to.
For example, when he began to remove her shorts and underwear, she pleaded with him not to rape her because she was on her period.
So, being the perfect gentleman, he proceeded to anally and orally rape her.
Nice guy, huh?

We also had zero doubt this guy was the guy who did it.
His lawyer (Public Pretender...I mean Defender) didn't offer any evidence to refute the state's case, so the jury's job was not difficult at all.
I was watching the local newspaper to see if/when he was sentenced, but haven't seen anything yet.
I hope the Judge puts this guy in a cage for a long time.

When I was in my 20s I was on a jury for a woman accused of shooting her boyfriend. He was having an affair with her land lady. She claimed it was self defense because she was sitting in a chair and the boyfriend walked in announced. She had a good lawyer and it almost worked; the fact that she had a loaded gun under the chair cushion and went to the door firing at him 5 more times worked against her. Btw she hit him in the arm once. She was immediately sentenced to 5 years in state prison. It was sad because she had a daughter and a good job.
