I usually just send them a primitive as an example, maybe I extrude a cutout in it.
That should be sufficent since its the Machsim thats the problem.

Well, I have wound up having to rebuild both of my HMC sets....

Bottomline is there has been a change in something...it used to be my tombstone rotated and the machine components were in position...
Even after rebuilding these from scratch, while they at least function again....the tombstone is now locked and everything moved around it...

At least I'm functional with it again.

I had to rebuild all the ones I encountered as well, if you share the tombstone one that doesnt work I can take a look.

Here's the machine if you'd like a gander...

Suffice to say MachSim appears somewhat hosed up...it doesn't like to show components unless you turn them on every time...it's spotty remembering your setting, even after saving the settings...and of course, the stationary work & fixture while all else moves

Here's Johnny!

I fixed a horizontal Machsim for Murlin, Postability wanted $$$$$ to fix it. I think the XML file got corrupted, I just recreated a new machine that he could easily manipulate his preferred machine geometry in.

I've always wondered why the Machine Sim files were located in the Public
My Mastercam folders
If a user doesn;t have Admin rights to the machine, his edits won't stick

This may be a silly question, but has the Simulation mode somehow been changed to Workpiece/Stock? This will keep the workpiece(and fixturing) stationary and cause the machine housing and machine components to revolve around it, exactly as you are describing. This mode is usually set to Tool or Machine.

See the leftmost ribbon bar group, right option, under the Simulation Tab. (I can't attach an image or cannot figure out how to attach one)

this is a low budget forum, started and financed by neurosis on his own dime
we don't have the budget for storage space for attachments and images.
If you need to attached a photo or file you must use a file sharing website such as One Drive, Google Drive or Imgur

Is there the possibility to do a file restore on your Machsim?
