Anyone here do regular or intermittent fasting as part of your diet? I am on my fourth week of what I have been calling fasting Friday's. I start Thursday evening after dinner and don't eat until Saturday morning. I only allow one cup of coffee Friday morning and otherwise just water. Then on Saturday morning I have a fruit/veggie smoothie and oatmeal for breakfast. I feel like I come alive on Saturday. I feel like I have flushed out my system and running efficiently.

I fast every day between 8:30 and 1:00 then from 1:30 to 6:00ish.

After 6:30ish I only drink clear, amber, or brown fluids.

I have to agree with you on this Doug, intermittent fasting is da bomb, it makes me feel great.

I don't fast in that fashion but I eat breakfast about twice a month. My normal breakfast is approximately a double shot of organic extra virgin olive oil. I say approximately because I just swig it out of my personal bottle.

On Saturdays I usually will eat either lunch or dinner but rarely both.

frequently go on a no food binge to clear out the cobwebs
eat small  portions for a couple of days then take a full 24 or more off of food ,have gone over 60 hours frequently .
tough to do sometimes with a girlfriend that cooks great food everyday , and wont fast with me.
gotta say though with insomnia already, when I don't eat I sleep even less , but get a lot done still , mostly reading and art in the wee hours .
the rest of the time its like smit said ...

And I'll bet you're not hungry until dinner...if then!

I did eat carrots on my first break and blueberries on my second so I'm not hungry but I'll eat my almond butter, spinach, honey and Ezekiel Bread sandwich anyway.

I did the olive oil thing for appetite suppressant and I wouldn't be hungry all day. Sometimes had to make myself eat dinner.

Hell no. I have no plans to leave this world hungry.

I have also like the aspect of "mind over body" when fasting. I often struggle with wanting that one more late night snack or mid-day snack that ends up being something not very good for me and too many calories. I feel like regular fasting helps me keep my eating in check more on non-fasting days.

I'm doing it mainly for brain health but there are many benefits that olive oil gives.
