My guess would be that they are under reported. I doubt that everyone who's had it has been tested or possibly even know they've had it.

I was actually getting close to deciding to get the vaccination but then I saw and article where the CDC is now saying early vaccinated people are at risk for high complication Covid infection and need booster shots. Again they have reversed course on what they have said. A month or so ago they said if you previously had Covid (like my family) the antibodies won't protect as long as the vaccine will and the severity of illness is reduced by the vaccine. However, now they are admitting the vaccine doesn't last that long and you are still at risk for severe illness. Complete 180 from what they said a month ago. It's almost as if it's all about the number of vaccines administered. I want to see the money trail to all the Politicians, their spouses, and friends that are well connected and making millions of these vaccines that we now need a third dose. This will never end. After everyone gets their third dose their will be a new Covid variant that needs a new vaccine.

No matter how you slice the odds, they are VERY low.

By all means, one should take whatever chances/precautions one feels they must. Just don't force that decision one way or the other upon the rest of us. That's all life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness are asking. No more. No less.

I've been listening to a medical podcast for a few months.  A doctor on there said that he got the virus last year. He hadn't been vaccinated yet.  The number one question that he gets; was he afraid of dying. His response was "no".  I'll paraphrase the response. He said that as a doctor, he knows that the chance of dying is around 1%. If you're doctor tells you that you have a %1 chance of dying it's very unlikely that you're going to die.

ALL covid death numbers are inflated. We don't truly know how many deaths were FROM covid.
They stated right from the start that people dying from anything would be a covid death (if they had covid).

And how many doctors/hospitals tagged deaths as covid just to get money?  We'll never know.
The total number of deaths FROM covid could be 10 for all we know.

My stepmother was quarantined in an skilled nursing center for 6 weeks due to a positive covid test.
When they discharged her they reported her dead. ( she was alive and well)
It took a month for us to find out.
By then her SS, Medicare and supplemental health insurance  had ben shut off, and her bank accounts frozen.
It was a real mess and took several months to get straightened out.
I'm sure the nursing facility got more $$$ discharging her dead, as opposed to discharging her healthy and alive.
She never did display any covid symptoms. The nursing facility was just hanging on to her
milking her SS and supplemental insurance. My wife had to go nuclear on them to get her released.

Only 38% of our county is vaccinated.  Pretty low for a mostly liberal county
